New Rules for the 2026 World Cup 😧🏆
🔸 Quick substitutions:
The player being subbed off must leave the pitch within 10 seconds. If he delays, the substitute has to wait 1 minute before entering, leaving the team temporarily with one less player.
🔸 Time limit on restarts:
Players have only 5 seconds to take a throw-in or goal kick. If they delay, possession is given directly to the opposing team.
🔸 Player treatment:
Any player who receives treatment on the pitch must leave and cannot return for at least 1 minute—unless the injury was caused by a foul that deserves a card.
🔸 Expanded VAR powers:
VAR can now review second yellow card situations (leading to a red) and some decisions like incorrect corner kicks.
🔸 Communication with the referee:
Only the team captain is allowed to speak to the referee. Any other player protesting may receive a yellow card.
