We are already gearing up for the 2027 season, with both men’s and women’s ECS events scheduled for early March in Granada, Spain.

𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗯𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻!

Both events will feature 5 clubs and 14 matches respectively, played on the beautiful Granada Oval home of Granada Cricket Club.

Last weekend saw the two teams representing Andalucía travel from Málaga to Benidorm for the Girls 6v6 Spanish Softball Cricket Championships and the inaugural at the Palau d’Esports l’lla, hosted by Cricket España.

60 participants across four regions - Alicante, Andalucía, Catalunya, Madrid competed in two age groups: U12 and U16. To determine these finals the playoffs were held in each region to qualify.

Cricket España hosted the event giving opportunity for schools across Spain to compete against one another.

The girl’s were excited and so appreciative of the opportunity and watching their commitment and improved performances was infectious. Seeing players enjoy the sport I love alongside their friends - that’s always the most rewarding part.

In the end it isn’t about who becomes Champions - It’s the memories the players leave with, something that can only be provided if the opportunity is created.

When girls in sport is a winner, then cricket is the winner too and that’s my lasting thought.

Everyone involved deserves to be commended for giving these young people that experience - An achievement we can all hold on to.

Well done to The Ark Christian School and IES Huelin and all the schools who participated.

The Cricket España launch of the Girls Softball Spanish Finals ‘The CRIIIO Cup’ taking place in Benidorm on Friday June 5th at the Palau d'Esports L'Illa de Benidorm today alongside José Cordá, (Councillor for Sports), Juan Carlos Rodríguez (President of Cricket España), John Howden (CEO), Neil Brook (Development Manager), and Jaime González (COO).

Good luck to both the schools taking part in representing the region of Andalucia in each of the age groups.
