After 9 years, 8 months, and 18 days, I can proudly say that I'm a British citizen! 🇬🇧💂♀️
I was talking about it recently with my closest friends, discussing why I decided to apply, and the main two reasons are:
1. Despite having settled status, post-Brexit, I wasn't sure if the government or the EU would keep their part of the bargain. After many years of paying taxes, I wanted to make sure I was protected (e.g., statutory pension, NHS, right to vote). 🫤
2. Most importantly, Italy is where I was born and where I created the foundation of my passionate personality, strong accent, and received my education. My family and best friends are there. 💚🤍♥️
However, my professional life is British: my first serious relationship, my first corporate job, my first property, my first crypto, professional qualifications, my first pandemic, becoming Uncle Dani, and so on. By living in this country, I have met so many people from different backgrounds who have opened my mind to different religions and ways of living. I've met friends who I can now call brothers. 🙏
This country is giving me the opportunity to succeed, or at least to try, in anything that I want to. From being a fitness and purpose coach to a salesperson in the UKI market.💪🚀
So, I proudly pledge allegiance to two beautiful countries that I can call home! Grazie Italia, Thank you United Kingdom. 🇮🇹🇬🇧
