Our inaugural La Rioja Cycling Tour brought together everything we love about exploring on two wheels: quiet backroads winding through endless vineyards, medieval hilltop towns like Laguardia and San Vicente, and the dramatic backdrop of the Sierra de Cantabria.

From smooth valley lines along the Ebro River to testing our legs on the historic slopes of Moncalvillo, every mile offered the perfect balance of challenging terrain, deep-rooted history, outstanding local gastronomy, and—of course—a glass of world-class w**e to end the day.

September 11th is a very special day in Catalonia.

If you ever visit us around this time, you’ll notice Catalan flags hanging from balconies, public gatherings in the streets, and many local shops closed. That’s because we’re celebrating the National Day of Catalonia (La Diada).

We commemorate September 11, 1714, when Barcelona fell after a long siege during the War of the Spanish Succession, leading to the loss of our historic institutions and self-government—a defining moment in our history. Beyond the defeat, today is a day of remembrance and a celebration of our language, culture, and identity.

From the rich, reddish tones of La Rioja last fall to a vibrant summer landscape filled with life and green vineyards.

We just got back from our final scouting trip before launching our very first official tour in La Rioja. We got to see the vineyards at a whole new stage of ripening, along with trucks carrying the harvest. We rode through stunning towns steeped in centuries of history, ancient monuments, and ruins. And most importantly: we had a blast on the bike!

Creating a new route with the Bikecat signature is the result of years of hard work, multiple trips, and countless miles on the bike (and in the van) exploring every hidden corner of the region. It's the only way we can deliver the carefully crafted, authentic, top-quality experience you deserve.
