Thursday morning, 27th May 2021 we had a Presidents v Vice Presidents competition. The object was for everyone to have a good time.
This did not mean that wanting to win took a back seat. On the contrary competiveness was fierce and virtually at every end the tape came out. As can be seen from the photos the weather was very overcast and although rain threatened it held off until the games were over. Success went to the President's side by a smidgin. When we were under cover it started to rain. We then spent the afternoon eating and drinking. The comradery continued with the quizs, raffle and a couple of games of bingo. The object to have a good time was achieved in spades. And money raised for the club was more that satisfying. We should be looking for another excuse to repeat the experience. If anyone thinks an excuse is required. Thanks once again to all the volunteers that made it happen. You did a great job. 😎

Despite covid we seemed to have coped well with the rules and regulations and have still been able to enjoy our bowls. Largely due to do with the adherence of all the members and the effort of the officers of the club. An example is seen from the photos below which shows our Easter celebrations. The easter bonnent winner. Unfortunately nothing of the scrumptious BBQ and the spread and the table games or even the game of "killer" afterwards played by the die hards. If anyone else took photos that cover the missed topics I'd appreciate them.

I have not said much in the last few weeks but we have been jogging along nicely since the last time I published something. Our internal competitions have been disrupted slightly but we have continued with our roll ups. A very pleasant morning of bowling was enjoyed this morning. The weather and the company were perfect.

After three or four days of torrential rain and freezing cold, Tuesday 12th January, 2021 proved a perfect day to have our usual roll-up in the morning and as shown below the continuing, in house singles competion. I have to thank John Rimmel, who played in the roll-up and then went on as a marker for the singles competition in the afternoon, for these beautiful photographs.

Christmas shindig Sunday 27th December, 2020. Thankyou to all those that put so much effort in creating such a lovely. Far too many to thank individually but it covers the bowling games, the food prepared and donated, the quizs, the games, the prizes, the genorosity of our friends, the work preparing the bar and the clearing up. Thankyou and thankyou to everyone for being such nice company. Incidently and we made money for the club. Roll on the next shindig, whatever the excuse. I've published lots of photos just so visitors to the site can see what a lovely club we have.

COVID blighted our Club Christmas celebrations as it has for people everywhere. Christmas dinner held in the afternoon and despite the limited number available to attend we had a smashing turnout with a smashing meal, smashing service, smashing entertainment smashing location and abve all a smashing time. Having smashing Christmas.

Roll up didn't start for all of us on Thursday but Sunday 13th December, 2020 because it wasn't until Saturday that crossing municipality borders was allowed. The banter and chatter and being able to arrange our internal competitions was a welcomed sign of relief for everyone. Needless to say the weather didn't let us down. Another super morning of bowling. After bowling it was agreed all rollup days will start at 10.00am for 10.30am start. Certainly until the restaurants and bars open in the evenings to accommodate those members that wine and dine in their favourite restaurants after bowling.

Looking forward to next Thursday, with a bit of luck we will have a full house again at rollup. Look forward to it. Keep your fingers crossed. Just for your information, the six of us had a fabulous game of trips this morning.

Whilst the rest of us had an enjoyable game of trips on our roll-up day yesterday. John Wilson our Club Capt. laboured on all morning reinforcing the fence to take the plastic screening, which we all hope will prevent debris blowing on to our green. And a magnificent job he has made of it. Thankyou John.

Thursday morning rollup 19th November 2020. Perfect morning for bowls, not to be beaten anywhere else in the world. It was spoilt only by the fact that we were limited in number by the restrictions imposed by COVID. We miss you guys that are unable to be with us.
