BasqueMTB is a small mountain biking holiday company, based in the Basque Country in the north west of Spain. We are tucked away between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic coast and enjoy a great mixture of Basque, Spanish and French cultures. The riding here is fantastic and hugely varied as we can choose to bike in the mountains, forests or on the amazing coastal singletrack.

Ibirque, at 1333 m above sea level, was once a thriving mountain village. Today, its abandoned houses and church ruins stand as a reminder of the people who once called this place home.

Since the end of the 2025 season, local trailbuilders — professionals and volunteers alike — have been putting in countless hours to maintain existing trails and add new ones throughout the Bortziriak area, our home.

The Backcountry Pyrenees is maybe our trip with the most variety. Grey earth, red earth, slick rock and dirt. This is a big adventure through the wild Pre-Pyrenees via some of the best trails you’ll ever ride. We will be running the Backcountry Pyrenees only in May this year. Then we will be on the coast in June. Do you like our refreshed logo? New tops are coming soon!
