One last summer spray before the winter kicks in. The change of season is always a good opportunity to reflect on the past season and getting some refreshing excitement on the coming one. Movie recommendation: The Life of Kai Lenny is the best way to tune in for the winter vibe. Big waves, cold waters of Nazare, lot of determination and even more work and sweat of Kai. That kid is pure motivation. He is going to fly this sport to the moon.

It's scarry how fast our world is changing. Internet already existed when I started surfing, but it was inaccessible for me. My yearly surf news portion was limited to one or two of these magazines that I could get my hands on on my annual one surf trip. Than this Magazin meant everything to me in the fight of survival a long time at home without waves until the next surf trip the following year. I was reading the same articles and looking at the same pictures every day dreaming of my next trip.
On one hand it is fantastic that today We have surf news and the best surf photos at the reach of our fingertips. On the other hand it is very sad that these Magazins will not be available anymore.
I still have some of these mit Chris Burkards Covers at home. Will keep them forever...

SurfSOULution is in Seignosse again.
I am back where it is all started. The place where the first Hilldependent students learned surfing 14 years ago.
Sandbanks are still the best in Europe, the sun is hot, the water is blue and the Croissant is buttery. And there are some free places in our surfcamp for august.
