Spain 2022.
Africa Twin 750 from 1990 and Transalp 600 from 1987.
Both went with us twice to Morocco in the desert, many times in Auvergne and Morvan’s tracks and now is Spain. And had lives before that too… i think we can tell they’re reliable!

Our first bivouac for this trip. An abandoned village found just before sundown. We slept under this ancient olive tree.

Spain 2022, day 7.
Waking up in a nice spot again.
Gling across the mountains again, we aim towards our starting point, finishing our loop.
After our lunch under a ancient oak (quercus ilex ballota), Lapin went straight into a ditch and destoyed his luggage supports and the few last good plastics on his Africa Twin. Fortuntely he’s fine (maybe a damaged rib 🤷🏻‍♂️) and the bike still runs perfectly.
We finally find our cars and trailers to head back to Auvergne.

We take advantage of the hotel to dry our stuff and head for the Alabra for a bit of tourism.
Then back to the mountains

Spain 2022, day 6.
Afternoon.
Mountains rapidly gave place to desert and proper heat.
Today the Gopro AND the remote work and I tailed Aymeric’s Transalp to take a few pictures on a narrow track. What a blast!
The day continued, gasoline burned and we finally found the nicest view to set camp.

Morning.
Waking up in the mountains, the temperature droped drastically to almost zero. That’s a cold start!
Soon the sun got higher and after a few crashes and bike lifting we were warmer than necessary.

We take advantage of the hotel to dry our stuff and head for the Alabra for a bit of tourism.

Spain 2022, day 4.
Woke up on top of the Mediterranean sea.
Passed a village with a few old ones to continue with dusty mountain roads, heading straight to Granada.
Got lost a few times, made some u-turns at the end of dry riverbeds, got soaked crossing rivers and finally arrived after a few forbidden shortcuts at the hotel.
