Heres the moment R. Ali scored his maiden half century for LMTCC this weekend vs Ilfield CC in the 40 over match. Making our poor P. Harvey run a 3 in the heat.

Day 2 of the Tour Pt. 2.

An intense finish to game one that ended in a Tie as the teams headed out to have their lunches. As agreed in the morning, the roles were to swap so now LMTCC would bat first and allow Ilfield CC to chase.

No changes to the batting order as K. Wood and A. Singh headed out to bat, but the quick powerful start from A. Singh in game 1 was not to be repeated as he was clean bowled in the first over.

C. Wood in at 3 again but would only last 2 overs before a full toss was clipped nicely to square leg as he was sent back for a pair of ducks in the day. This brought in G. Singh who was coming in from a fine 43 from the previous game.

In the same order from game 1, K. Wood was the next to fall when an attempted flick shot found a leading edge and flew to cover for another simple catch with the score now at 32/3 after 9 overs.

A. Warraich came in at 5 but would watch G. Singh get out caught the next over. 40/4 after 10 overs.

Pa. Singh came in at 6 and started a counter attack whilst A. Warraich ticked over until the 15th over before he was out bowled, which then lead to Debutee, Ravi, falling 2 balls later when he was caught behind. The score now at 66/6 with 5 overs to go.

A. Court went in to bat and allowed Pa. Singh to continue attacking and bringing the score up with the help of some extras here and there before A. Court was caught out in the 17th over bringing in the Wall, M. Wilson-Pestell who helped stabalize the innings and ensure that the full 20 overs were batted out.

A final score of 97/7 and a tough target to defend.

A. Warraich took the first first once again with the help from Pa. Singh on the other end as they bowled 3 overs each to finish the powerplay with 44 runs on the board as the batters batted with freedom.

C. Wood and M. Wilson-Pestell came into the attack with C. Wood causing the majority of the problems for the batters but with an already defeated mentality, there were 4 drop catches on the field as his 3 overs went for 32.

M. Wilson-Pestell bowled well like in game 1 but eventually the winning runs were reached inside the 12th over.

A disspointing end to the weekend for LMTCC but the spirit of the game was held high as hand shakes and laughs filled the ground as both teams walked off and enjoyed the final hours of the weekend.

A HUGE Thank you to Rob and Tracey for organizing this weekend and keeping the shack topped up with refreshing drinks throughout the weekend.

A great shoutout to all the LMTCC who made themselves available and played cricket in good spirits to ensure our guests enjoyed they´re time at the La Manga Cricket and Golf Resort.

Day 2 of the Tour.

After a run feast in day 1 with 478 runs scored in 72 overs. It was time for the T20 clashes.

Bright and sunny morning and to avoid any more dissapointment in the toss era for K. Wood, an agreement was made by the 2 captains that LMTCC would bowl first in the first game and then swap round for the second game.

Lots of changes for the LMTCC squad for the second day, A. Warriach and Pa. Singh came into the team and were given the new ball to get the first game underway.

Another amazing start for LMTCC with the ball as A. Warraich caused early issues with his pace and also broke the stumps when he clean bowled the opener for a wicket maiden to start with.

Meanwhile, on the other end, Pa. Singh also kept up with some very tight bowling and also bowled a maiden straight up. The 2 bowlers kept the batters quiet during the powerplay with the first boundary coming in the 6th over. A strong powerplay from LMTCC with Ifield CC sat at 27/1.

A change in attack saw C. Wood and G. Singh which the Ilfield batters took a liking too and a big over worth 17 against C. Wood. However, C. Wood made a huge comeback when he got the batter to top edge a ball high into the air for K. Wood to take a catch with the gloves. S. Singh replaced C. Wood but struggled to keep the batters down as he went for 19 runs in his 2 overs.

G. Singh bowled through his overs and claimed a wicket for himself in his last over when a cut shot was mis-hit and debutee Ravi had a couple of attempts but finally held on to the catch. This saw the score at 85/3 after 13 overs.

Change of bowling again saw M. Wilson-Pestell come on to bowl on one end, whilst Pa. Singh returned on the other end.

Pa. Singh bowled tight again, only going for 14 runs from his last 2 overs. Meanwhile, M. Wilson-Pestell was causing loads of problems for the Ilfield batters with his flight when he claimed a wicket in his first over when a lofted shot landed saftly into the hands of G. Singh at Long-on.

M. Wilson-Pestell then claimed his 2nd wicket in his 3rd over when a cut shot floated nicely into the hands of S. Singh at backward point.

Meanwhile, C. Wood came back on to bowl the penultimate over and kept it tight only going for 5 runs.

The last over was quickly upon us as the ball was given back to M. Wilson-Pestell to bowl his last over. His flight continued to cause problems deep into the innings and the batters were struggling to hit the ball into the gaps.

The final ball of the innings was eventually flat-bat slapped towards mid-off where A. Court took a nice catch over his shoulder.

End of the innings as LMTCC kept Ilfield CC down to 122/6.

Catches from K. Wood, S. Singh, Ravi, G. Singh and A. Court in a spectacular bowling and fielding performance.

Into the run chase now and with only a 6 RRR needed, nothing silly was needed from the lads.

K. Wood walked out with Ak. Kumar and started steadily with 4 runs from the first over and then Ak. Kumar taking an early liking to the 2nd bowler as he hit 16 from the next over.

3rd over saw the first wicket fall as Ak. Kumar tickle an inside edge through to the keeper. C. Wood came in at 3 but he was quickly sent back after 2 balls when a good ball found the gap and took out the off stump. 23/2 off 3 overs.

G. Singh came in at 4 and the partnership with K. Wood went up steadily again with the occassional boundary.

K. Wood would be the next batter to go when a cut shot was top edged and into the hands of Gully. 56/3 off 10 overs.

A. Warriach came in at 5 and the boys found some good tempo as they ran plenty of singles and pushed 2´s when needed with G. Singh hitting a boundary every other over too.

The score was ticking along and the 50 partnership came inside the 17th over. 101/3 with 3 overs to go.

7 runs from the 19th over. 116/3

First ball ..... WICKET! G. Singh OUT BOWLED. Pa. Singh In.

forth ball ........... DOT BALL, 5 runs needed from 2
fifth ball ............. 1 run, 4 needed from the last ball!

LAST BALL incoming and A. Warraich on strike.

The ball was hit high into the air toward long off!!! Landed safe from the fielder as the 2 batters rushed 2 runs!

As the throw came in from the boundary towards the keeper, the ball collided with the grounded bat of A. Warraich and rolled away to 45 as Pa. Singh at the Non-strikers end then galloped to complete the 3rd run!

MATCH TIED! The ruling was that A. Warraich had his back to the ball and just stood there with his bat grounded in the crease when the ball hit his bat and deemed unintentional.

A chaotic end to a game which flipped both ways throughout the innings, but in the end a friendly game ended with a TIE with both teams laughing in good spirits.

PHEW what a game! It was time for both teams to take their lunch and regroup before 1 final clash in the afternoon.

DAY 1 of the Tour.

Double header weekend starting up as LMTCC host the energetic and fun team of Ilfield CC.

Round 1 on Saturday saw the 2 teams battle it out in a 40 over match.

In proper LMTCC style, the toss was done and K. Wood once again lost and was asked to bowl first. Win Win as K. Wood was going to bowl first anyway.

New ball was given to P. Harvey for the first over and a great start for LMTCC as the second ball saw a straight drive hit straight to Mid-off and a suicidal single called through to which A. Court made a good throw to K. Wood behind the stumps to run out the non-striker who hadnt even faced a ball yet!

2nd Over given to R. Ali and more chaos for the tourists as a shot out to cover called for another tight single where R. Singh made a good pick up and throw back to R. Ali at the bowlers end to take the bails off as another batter was sent back to the dugout. 2/2 off 2 overs as LMTCC continued with the tight bowling.

7th over saw the next wicket fall with P. Harvey forcing an outside edge from the batter for K. Wood to take a nice catch behind the stumps with the score now at 12/3 after 7 overs. R. Ali bowled his 4th over too with the openers having combined figures of 1/13 off 8 overs.

Change in the bowling Saw R. Singh and S. Singh come into the attack.

Couple of overs passed before another wicket fell, with a flick shot hit straight to mid-wicket and the non-striker trying to steal a quick single, only for the on-strike batter not to move and send his partner back. R. Ali picked up the ball and threw the ball to R. Singh to finish the job and claim ANOTHER RUN OUT!

The next over saw the next wicket fall with S. Singh finally getting the opener out who was clean bowled which was followed by cheers from his own team-mates after he was the cause of the 3 run outs. 31/5 after 12 overs.

S. Singh and R. Singh bowled their 4 overs each with combined figures of 1/34 as the next pair of bowlers came into the attack.

H. James and M. Wilson-Pestell were the next bowlers but both were attacked a bit more by the new Ilfield batters as their 8 over bowling partnership went for 41. Drinks break at the 20 over mark saw Ilfield CC reach 63/5.

Next bowling partnership for LMTCC saw P. Singh and N. Wood come into the attack but this is when the runs started piling on and the batters found some form as the next 7 overs went for 72 runs.

A. Court was the 9th bowler to join the bowling as LMTCC start re-rolling the other bowlers with R. Ali coming back into bowl.

A. Court after not bowling for 18 months showed and was punished for 50 runs off his 4 overs, but claimed 2 wickets in 2 balls with a stumping from K. Wood behind the stumps and the next ball bowling out the next batter for a golden Duck.

R. Ali bowled well in his extra 2 overs, only going for 9 more runs in his figures.

M. Wilson-Pestell came back on for a 2 over blast too but went for 22 runs in his 2 overs before R. Singh came on to bowl the last over of the innings but was torn apart by the nº11 who smashed 16 off 3 balls to finish the innings.

A couple of retired outs during the innings but the innings was held together from a 91 by Sudess and 63 (retired out) by Baz who together had a partnership worth 149 over 20 overs.

Run Out for A. Court, R. Singh and R. Ali and then the 2 retired out batters of Ilfield saw the final score reach 266/9 off 40 overs.

A Huge effort from Ilfield CC who found themselves at 31/5 at 12 and then 63/5 at the half way mark.

A nice break for lunch before the run chase.

K. Wood opened the batting with H. Singh who was making his debut and the tone was set early with 17 coming from the first over, and 12 off the next over, with K. Wood attacking early before a mis-cued shot saw him caught a mid-wicket in the 3rd over.

P. Singh came into bat at 3 as the momentum kept up and reaching 60/1 after 6 overs. H. Singh was the next to fall as he was caught behind for 13 in his debut.

P. Singh would fall the very next over as he was caught out too for 21.

P. Harvey and R. Singh were the 2 new batters in and built a little partnership worth 19 in 5 overs before another mini collaspe that saw R. Singh and S. Singh caught out within a period of 6 balls.

R. Ali came in to bat at 7 to join P. Harvey as the 2 put their heads down and concentrated. Building a partnership as the score passed 100 in the 16th over and the 50 partnership coming in the 21st over.

R. Ali found some good form as he reached his first Half Century for the club in just 41 balls when he hit a nice shot for 3 runs.

Into the 28th over, R. Ali and P. Harvey brought up the 100 partnership and the score now at 185/5 with 12 overs to chase 77 runs.

Unfortunately, the partnership would fall, as a tired R. Ali could not hit any more big shots and a shot down the ground found the hands of a fielder. 197/6 after 30 overs but now the final collaspe was looming with A. Court lasting 2 overs, "The Wall" M. Wilson-Pestell lasting 3 overs and then N. Wood finishing the innings as he was caught behind. H. James unable to bat due to an injury sustained.

This left P. Harvey stranded at the non-strikers end on an unbeaten 43* as LMTCC finished the innings 212/9 (All Out)

HUGE WEEKEND AHEAD!

A list of 17 players who will be playing for LMTCC this weekend as we host Ilfield CC from the UK.

Saturday 12th September will see the 2 teams battle it out in a 40 over match. Match will begin at 11.00.

Sunday 13th September will see them tackle it out in 2 T20 games. First game to also start at 11.00, with the second game about 30 minutes after the conclussion of game 1.

This weekend will be a blast so be sure to come down and support the lads as the 2026 slowly comes to an end.

LEAGUE 2026 CONCLUDED!

With this past weekends matches between Biccbarcelona and Madrid CC, the 2 ECCL leagues have now finished.

Sporting Alfaz C.C complete the full sweep in both league as they maintain their champion status in the T20 league and claim the 40 Over title from last years winners, Barcelona International.

Madrid claimed 2 wins in the T20 games vs BICC this weekend as they flew to 2nd place.

However, due to some injuries sustained in those T20 games on Saturday, BICC were unable to field a full side for the 40 over game on the Sunday. With the help from some LMTCC players, they fulfilled the fixture but evidentally had to "forfeit" the league game and were deducted 20 points.

With this happening, they unfortunately dropped to last place and LMTCC pushed up to 3rd place, dispite not winning a game.

LMTCC claim just 1 win in the T20s, so finished up bottom of the table.

A tough year all round, with fixtures being cancelled and ground availability but 2027 will bounce back!!

MATCH REPORT INCOMING!

A bright and blue skied morning as LMTCC make their drive up to Albir to face Sporting Alfaz C.C in their last league game of the season.

K. Wood lost the toss once again and was asked to bat first.

Before the start of play, all the players and umpires held a minute silence and paid their respects to the recent passing of Ron Graham, who was sadly taken away from us earlier in the week.

Into the action, K. Wood and P. Harvey opened the batting.

Distasterous start for LMTCC as P. Harvey called a single in the second over but misjudged the trajectory of the ball, as some good fielding saw him run out.

The next over also saw K. Wood depart when he edged a cut shot straight to the Alfas Keeper. 1/2 off 2 overs with both openers back in the hut.

C. Wood and T. Knowles were the new batters in and took an attacking approach to the alfas bowlers. Putting on a 50 partnership in the following 6 overs. Which included an over where T. Knowles dispatched 3 6´s.

The counter-attack came to an end when T. Knowles was then bowled and the score now at 60/3 off 12 overs.

P. Singh on debut came in at 5 to join C. Wood but the lack of communication between the 2 batters saw some early signs of struggle running between the wicket. This eventually saw a run out happen when P. Singh called C. Wood through for a 2nd run which saw him fall margainly short when the bails were taken off at the bowlers end. 75/4 after 16 overs.

The next 6 overs saw the rest of the team fall in very quick succession. P. Singh was out caught not longer after C. Wood´s dismissal, then A. Kumar chipped a ball to an Alfas fielder too, followed by R. Singh getting bowled for a Golden Duck bringing the team to 82/8 as drinks were taken in the 20th over.

M. Wilson-Pestell and R. Ali were the 2 batters in as they looked to try and scamper some runs to the board but even the Great Inpenetrable Wall of M. Wilson-Pestell could not survive as he was clean bowled too.

S. Singh came in at 10 and hit an amazing 6 before he watched R. Ali eventually bring his long innings to an end when he was out bowled.

B. Couter came in at 11 but his stay would be short lived to when we was bowled for a 5 ball duck.

A very tough outing for the lads as they were bowled out for just 96 in under 23 overs. So early that the teas had not yet been preparred so a quick 10 minute turnaround to send everyone back out.

A losing battle but LMTCC went out with smiles on their faces and a positive attitude to make the most of the situation.

R. Ali took the honours of the first over and kept it tight until the last ball of the over which was hooked for 4.

T. Knowles was still in good spirits from his batting innings and took the second over..... only to be hit for 21 of his 1 and only over.

Quick change saw R. Singh come into bowl instead.

Short spells from everyone to ensure everyone gets a bowl and to try unsettle the Alfas batters but boundaries came very easily for the un-pressured batters. A wicket did come, in the form of M. Wilson-Pestell when a lofty ball got the better of the batter and could only find a soft edge that landed simply for K. Wood with the gloves.

P. Singh had an over and claimed the wicket off the other Alfas opener with his faster bowling with a misconnected drive that landed saftely into the hands of P. Harvey.

2 new batters in but the runs kept coming and the small target of 97 was reached by the 8.5 over mark.

Catches from K. Wood and P. Harvey who took more catches between them then runs scored.....

A mammoth win from Sporting Alfas by 8 wickets in a game that only lasted a total of 30 overs.

By this time, the teas were ready so both teams enjoyed some early drinks, afternoon sunshine and food before LMTCC made their early way home.

Dissapointing day in cricket terms but the lads at LMTCC fielded and bowled with smiles on their faces and had many laughs when they could. Spirits unmatched when losing games.

Alfas smash 20 points from the game as LMTCC pushed 2 points dispite the big loss.

Our league season comes to an end, but more cricket still to come.

This weekend, cricket returns to the La manga cricket and golf resort as Biccbarcelona take on Madrid CC in the El Classico of the cricketing world. Games to be played on both Saturday and Sunday of this week. Both days to start at 11.00. Be sure to pop by to see some cricket!

LMTCC will return in a couple of weeks time as they host a touring side from the UK, Ilfield CC, in a double header.

Terribly saddened to hear of the passing of Ron Graham. A beloved character in the cricketing world and helped push Cricket in Spain to where it is now.

LMTCC gives our deepest condolenses to his friends and family at this time.

It’s with very sad news we have lost a huge character and Alfas friend Ronald Graham known to many as Uncle Ron well respected Umpire around the Spanish leagues will be missed

Here is your LMTCC squad for the final league game of the 2026 season!

P. Kumar makes his debut for the squad as we take on Sporting Alfaz C.C in a 40 over clash.

LMTCC yet to register a win in the 40 over league, but have provided some close games in the longer format! Can the lads turn it around!
