Cuando asumí la dirección de la marca «Royal Asport» en enero de 2019, jamás imaginé que esta decisión me llevaría por un camino tan extraordinario: convertirme en el heredero espiritual de un héroe nacional. Joseph Habierre, nacido José María Javierre Japún, fue el primer ciclista español en participar en el Tour de Francia.

Joseph compitió en el Tour de 1909 y 1910 como «Isolé», un corredor independiente sin equipo ni asistencia de ningún tipo. Terminó en 17.ª y 24.ª posición en París, respectivamente, lo que lo convirtió en uno de los ciclistas más destacados de la época.

Invitado por el mismísimo Henri Desgrange para el Tour de Francia de 1911, Joseph declinó la invitación, prefiriendo dedicarse a su tienda de bicicletas en Oloron Sainte-Marie.

Comenzando con la venta de bicicletas Alcyon, Joseph pronto expandió su negocio con sus propias creaciones bajo su marca: Royal Asport.

Royal Asport se convirtió en una marca respetada, alcanzando su máximo esplendor a finales de los 50 y principios de los 60 con el equipo profesional español KAS...

Este es mi legado. Esta es mi misión. Devolverle a Royal Asport el prestigio que merece.

Les aseguro que no es fácil, sobre todo hoy en día, con la situación actual de la industria ciclista. Sin embargo, no dejo de pensar que para Joseph, a principios del siglo XX, tampoco lo fue. Era un zapatero entre semana y un ciclista los fines de semana, ganando carrera tras carrera...

With “La Isolé 2026” cyclosportive event just a couple of weeks away, the new Royal Asport Cycleworks website is ready for launch.
Designed to offer a better user experience: streamlined navigation, unified look & feel across desktop and mobile versions, and clear distinction between the three domains of the house.
We are now working on the integration of our Shopify store, the revamp of the Contact page, and the publication of the first blog posts written by our mascot Oza...
Then, we will turn on the Spanish version, right on time for La Isolé, scheduled June 5-7 in Borau, Aragon.

For years, cycling media have photographed the same roads.
The same passes, the same famous climbs, the same landscapes.
Meanwhile, an entire territory remained almost untouched.

Over the past months, Royal Asport Cycleworks has been quietly developing something in the western Pyrenees, between Béarn, Aragon and Navarra: a private editorial reconnaissance service for cycling media, photographers, brands and creative teams.

Not tourism. Not press trip.

Editorial Recon.

The idea is simple: help creative teams access roads, villages, light conditions and landscapes rarely - sometimes never - shown before in cycling media.

A few days ago, during a field session in Aragon with a journalist from Le Cycle magazine, we spent two days exploring hidden roads and building images directly from the terrain itself. Along routes that we designed based on our own experiences, knowledge, and taste.

No staging. No artificial storytelling.
Just the right place, at the right moment.

This approach already led us, last December, to organize a unique bicycle photoshoot inside La Verna, one of the largest accessible underground caves in the World.
Not for spectacle.
For the unprecedented.

This is where Royal Asport Cycleworks naturally belongs: between cycling, territory, aesthetics and field knowledge.

The Model8 version 2, with its new cockpit and saddle. Including the pedals, the bottle cages, and the head unit support, the Model8 weights in 7.4 kilos.
Aero, lightweight components, made-to-measure carbon frame: this is where the idea becomes a machine.
The Model8 stands exactly where it should. A bicycle brought to its logical conclusion. Every line has a role. Everything earns its place.
The new cockpit sets the tone immediately. Lower, tighter, more deliberate. The front end now aligns perfectly with the frame: speed through clarity, precision through simplicity.
What defines this bike is coherence.
The junctions, the dialogue between carbon tubes and metal lugs, the stance on its wheels - everything follows the same direction. The components share that same discipline: each one selected with intent, including the Chinese wireless derailleurs. This bicycle came together as a whole. It reached resolution.
7.4 kilos is the figure people will notice. It matters.
Control matters more.
Control of weight.
Control of lines.
Control of purpose.
Lightness came as a consequence. What remained is essential. The result holds presence, balance, and precision.
On the road, the experience speaks clearly. The bike fades away, leaving space for movement, rhythm, and focus.
The Model8 is not about trends or categories.
It is a finished bicycle.

Aero, componentes ligeros, marco de carbono hecho a medida: aquí es donde la idea se convierte en una máquina.

El Model8 está exactamente donde debería. Una bicicleta llevada a su conclusión lógica. Cada línea tiene un papel. Todo se gana su lugar.

La nueva cabina marca el tono inmediatamente. Más bajo, más apretado, más deliberado. La parte delantera ahora se alinea perfectamente con el marco: velocidad a través de la claridad, precisión a través de la simplicidad.

Lo que define esta bicicleta es la coherencia.

Las uniones, el diálogo entre los tubos de carbono y las orejetas metálicas, la postura en sus ruedas, todo sigue la misma dirección. Los componentes comparten la misma disciplina: cada uno seleccionado con intención, incluidos los desviadores inalámbricos chinos. Esta bicicleta vino junta como un todo. Llegó a la resolución.

7,4 kilos es la cifra que la gente notará. Importa.

El control importa más.

Control de peso.

Control de líneas.

Control del propósito.

La ligereza vino como consecuencia. Lo que queda es esencial. El resultado tiene presencia, equilibrio y precisión.

En la carretera, la experiencia habla con claridad. La bicicleta se desvanece, dejando espacio para el movimiento, el ritmo y la concentración.

El Modelo 8 no se trata de tendencias o categorías.

Es una bicicleta terminada.
