The reason for us reaching out to you and all the EPL supporters clubs in Sydney is to gain interest in participating in the SSFC EPL Supporters Cup. As football kicks off in England our season is usually drawing to an end but the passion from our players and members continues even when we are not on the pitch and the stadium goes quiet for a while until our season starts again.
What the club would like to do is create an annual cup tournament open to all the EPL supporters clubs to participate in and have bragging rights during the season and see some football being played by supporters and football fans alike. At this stage we are reaching out to all the groups to gain interest and work a format that would work for everyone, be it a 1 day tournament, weekend or season. We were thinking a 9 a-side comp across half of our field (our field is the largest in the NPL competition) depending on the number of entries it would be either a group setup or everyone plays minimum 3 games selected out of a pot. Format, structure and participation fee can be worked out later but we would like to see if your club would be interested in participating.
It would be a great opportunity for all the EPL fans and football fans in general to get together play some games and one would have bragging rights for the year walking away with the Trophy!! The Stadium is a FIFA approved artificial pitch and has a 600 seat stadium and would be a great venue for the competition. The club would be proud to hold it annually and see the ground being used by everyone.
Everything will come down to number of clubs that enter but we would like to see this grow every year and we have the support of the club, media and our members who would like to come and watch the cup played.
We hope you would like to be part of this and look forward to hearing back from you and confirmation on wanting to be part of this football beginning, will your club be the first winners of the cup?
