We continue our series focused on padel court maintenance, where we cover real scenarios and explain the technical work required to keep courts performing at the highest level.

Maintenance is not a minor task — it’s a key factor in durability, safety and player experience.

Episode 2: Sand redistribution & sand refill

The interaction between player, ball and artificial turf depends on the correct balance of every component within the turf system. One of the most important elements is the silica sand infill.

During play, player movement progressively displaces the sand across the surface, especially in high-traffic areas. The more intensive the use, the greater the displacement.

Regular redistribution and refill of silica sand are essential to maintain homogeneous playing conditions, proper traction, ball bounce consistency and overall surface stability.

At JUBOpadel, we have tested different textured artificial turf systems in our showroom and verified how fiber density and texture directly influence sand stability and displacement.

Outdoor and semi-covered courts usually require more frequent sand refill due to wind and rain conditions.

It is also important to remember that newly installed courts often require additional sand adjustment after the first days of use, as the sand naturally settles through player traffic and weather conditions.

At JUBOpadel, we approach maintenance as part of the full lifecycle of the court — ensuring long-term performance, safety and consistency.

Continuamos nuestra serie centrada en el mantenimiento de pistas de padel, donde abordamos escenarios reales y explicamos el trabajo técnico necesario para mantener las pistas en condiciones óptimas.

El mantenimiento no es una tarea menor — es un factor clave en la durabilidad, la seguridad y la experiencia de juego.

Episodio 2: Redistribución y relleno de arena

La interacción entre jugador, pelota y césped artificial depende del equilibrio correcto de todos los elementos que forman el sistema de césped. Uno de los más importantes es el relleno de arena de sílice.

Durante el juego, el movimiento de los jugadores desplaza progresivamente la arena sobre la superficie, especialmente en las zonas de mayor uso. Cuanto más intensivo es el uso, mayor es el desplazamiento.

La redistribución y reposición periódica de arena de sílice es fundamental para mantener unas condiciones homogéneas de juego, una correcta tracción, un bote consistente de la pelota y la estabilidad general de la superficie.

En el showroom de JUBOpadel hemos podido comprobar cómo diferentes sistemas de césped texturizado influyen directamente en la estabilidad y desplazamiento de la arena según la densidad y estructura de la fibra.

Las pistas outdoor o semicubiertas requieren una reposición de arena más frecuente debido al viento y la lluvia.

También es importante recordar que las pistas de nueva instalación suelen necesitar un ajuste adicional de arena tras los primeros días de uso, ya que esta se asienta de forma natural por la pisada y las condiciones climatológicas.

En JUBOpadel, entendemos el mantenimiento como parte del ciclo completo de la pista, garantizando rendimiento, seguridad y consistencia en el tiempo.
