Ce palmarès vaut au Barça d'apparaître au troisième rang européen du classement des clubs de football du XXe siècle et au premier rang mondial pour la décennie 2001-2010 selon l'IFFHS3. Le club est dirigé par Sandro Rosell, élu président le 13 juin 2010 pour un mandat de six ans, en succession de Joan Laporta. Son entraîneur est depuis 2008 Josep Guardiola, ancien joueur international espagnol formé au Barça, qui mène pour sa première saison le club à un inédit sextuplé (championnat, coupe et supercoupe d'Espagne, Ligue des champions, supercoupe de l'UEFA et Coupe du monde des clubs). Pour la saison 2012-2013, Guardiola laisse sa place à son adjoint Tito Vilanova.

FC Barcelona face the Andalusians with a number of absences in their rearguard. Without Puyol and Piqué, Tito Vilanova will need to change his defensive plans.
