Hi, I'm Alan and I have been in the health and fitness industry for 19 years - yes I'm that old! My employment has included sports coaching, leisure management and, for the last 5 years, personal training. I deal predominantly with clients who want to lose weight, build muscle, improve fitness or tone up. In addition I enjoy the challenge of those training for events or sports, and those with spec
ific medical conditions. My competitive sporting background was mainly in endurance running and I spent 14 years taking part in road, track, cross country, and hill running in distances from 3K to marathon. In the last 7 years, however, I have concentrated on weight training to turn the previously skinny long distance runner into someone with a bit more muscle! My huge passion for sport, health and fitness will help me design fun and effective training for my clients. I like to keep my knowledge up to speed through continuos studying, undertaking courses, and attending seminars. I am a graduate of the Body Type Nutrition Practical Academy qualifying me to be insured to give nutrition advice. This is one of the leading courses world-wide in up skilling nutritional knowledge for personal trainers, led by some of the UK industry experts. In addition I am a Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer specialising in obesity and diabetes management, and I am currently studying towards by Life Coach qualification.
