Yes, of course! Our sessions are tailored to everyone - beginners and the advanced.
• How often do you train? We will be training three times a week. However, you do not need to attend all three sessions if you do not want to. The training times will be announced shortly.
• I am afraid to get hit, I am not interested in sparring or fighting. Can I still attend your sessions? Absolutely you can.
A lot of people in our society do muay thai only to keep fit, reach their fitness goal, stay healthy. You will not be asked to spar, enter competitions, if you do not want to do that.
• How do your typical sessions look like? Our sessions are a mix of bag work, pad drills, as well as conditioning exercises.
• Where do you train? One day a week we will train in the University's Sports Hall. The other two times we will train in our coach's - Master Jay's gym in Marsh. On the days when we will be training in Master Jay's gym, we will meet in the university, near iPoint and walk up to the gym together. It's approximately a 30 minute walk.
• I want to try your society before signing up, can I? Yes, you can! Every student can attend a few training sessions to try out our society, the sport, before we ask you to commit to a membership. We will be hosting four taster sessions in late September and early October. However, if you want to join the society later in the year or you cannot attend the taster sessions, feel free to message us and arrange a different date when you can come and try the society.
• How much is the membership? The membership for our society is £60.5 a year. This includes three sessions a week for 22 weeks + the social events we will be hosting. You can buy the membership here: https://www.huddersfield.su/groups/thai-boxing
• Do I need to sign up to try the society/attend the sessions? Please send us a message or email informing us that you would like to try our society or attend the training sessions.
