Yesterday we played for the August Monthly Medal. It was a very warm day with only a slight refreshing breeze and the scores were hot. Tomas shot a nett 70, and Ian shot 69 but to no avail. Leo and last months winner Mike both shot nett 68s. As the medals are decided on handicap order, Leo was declared the winner thanks to his marginally lower handicap. Well played Leo. Tremendous golf. Here Captain Tomás is presenting the glass to the worthy winner.

A few weeks ago we played for the July monthly medal. A close competition in fine and hot conditions and edging out the rest with a nett 70 was ex captain Mike. Captain Tomas presented the medal glass to Mike after the August medal played today (results to follow in a new post)

Today we played for the Platinum Jubilee Trophy. Calm and very warm weather greeted the players. The first group took almost all of the honours.
Nearest the pins were Sue Wood and Karen Grant. Enjoy your wine ladies.
The competition was very close. 3rd place went to Sue Wood with 35 points, losing out on count-back to Mike Barnes who also had 35 points. However hanging on to win was Steve May with 36 points , seen here collecting his trophy from Captain Tomás Acha.

Today the sun shone and the wind stayed away. A Stableford competition for the Coronation Cup.
Runner up with 34 points was Sue Instone but the winner with a superb 39 points was Karen Grant.
Captain Tomas presented the trophy after we had all feasted on the Tapas.
Sorry you lol as if you’ve bc a black eye Karen. Must be a shadow.

Last Monday we played for the K&M trophy donated by Ken & Margaret Morgan.
The winner with a superb 39 points was Steve seen here receiving his trophy from Captain Tomás.

Today the conditions were perfect for golf and low scores were expected. However they didn’t materialise and the winners were all a little surprised.
We played for the April Monthly Medal and 3rd was Markus with a nett 77, 2nd was Mike B with a nett 75, but edging everyone out was Steve with a nett 74.

The Eclectic (handicap) and Order of Merit (Scratch eclectic) competitions have ended for this winter. The run away winner of both competitions was Sue who won both by a clear 10 shots. Well played Sue. Captain Tomás presented the trophies after today’s round.

Last week we played for the the Flynn’s Folly trophy. A 3 clubs and putter competition played in lovely conditions. The winner this year is non other than Maria seen here receiving her trophy from captain Tomás.

Today LEGS played a Betterball competition for the St. Valentine’s trophy. A cool start to the day and quite breezy. The sun shone bc and it warmed a little as the wind eased.
Runners up were Mikko & Tiiti with 40 points. However they were narrowly beaten by Andrew and Sue Wood with a sterling 41 points.

Yesterday we played for the New Year Cup. It was a Stableford competition which started in cold conditions. An even colder breeze got up and many golfers game’s were even colder. However, a few defied the elements and returned creditable scores. Topping the leaderboard was our own Social Secretary Sue with 35 points, edging out Steve with a fighting 34 with 21 on the back nine.
