🇪🇸 𝐃𝐞 𝐍̃𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮́ 𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐝𝐚́𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 🏉

La nueva temporada ya ha empezado, pero no podíamos pasar por alto compartir una experiencia inolvidable que dos de nuestros rugbiers vivieron este verano en Sudáfrica 🇿🇦

Noara y Luca fueron seleccionados para participar en el SAS Rugby Summer Camp (SASRIC), un campamento de alto nivel de la escuela SAS Rugby en Sudáfrica dedicado a formar jugadores dentro y fuera del campo, combinando entrenamiento de alto rendimiento, competición, educación y los valores que hacen grande a este deporte.

Dos rugbiers de nuestra pequeña isla, entrenando junto a los grandes en el templo mundial del rugby. Decir que estamos orgullosos se queda muuuy corto 🙌

Dos personas muy diferentes. Una que lleva apenas tres años jugando al rugby y otro que lleva prácticamente toda la vida creciendo dentro de nuestro club. Pero ambos comparten algo fundamental, los valores que les han llevado hasta aquí:

🤝 Integridad y compañerismo

Noara seguirá un año más con Ñandú, trabajando y creciendo con el sueño de seguir construyendo su camino en el rugby nacional, y por qué no, también internacional. Luca ya ha comenzado una nueva etapa: formando parte del CR Cisneros de Madrid mientras empieza sus estudios 🎓

Dos caminos diferentes. Un mismo origen. Y una misma familia detrás. Seguiremos apoyándolos, de cerca y de lejos, allá donde les lleve el rugby, porque esto también es Ñandú: formar jugadores, pero sobre todo, formar personas, para toda la vida y en cada etapa 🏉🫶

The new season has already begun, but we couldn’t let summer go by without sharing an unforgettable experience that two of our rugby players had this summer in South Africa 🇿🇦

Noara and Luca were selected to take part in the SAS Rugby Summer Camp (SASRIC), a high-level camp run by SAS Rugby in South Africa, dedicated to developing players both on and off the field, combining high-performance training, competition, education, and the values that make this sport so great.

Two rugby players from our little island, training alongside the greats in the home the of rugby world champions. Proud is a huge understatement 🙌

Two very different people. One has only been playing rugby for three years, while the other has spent practically his entire childhood with our club. But they both share something fundamental, the values that have brought them this far:

💪 Hard work and determination
🙌 Humility
🔥 Talent and a desire to learn
🤝 Integrity and team spirit

Noara will stay with Ñandú for another year, working hard and continuing to grow, with the dream of building her path in national rugby and, why not, internationally too. Luca has already begun a new chapter, joining Club de Rugby Cisneros in Madrid while starting his studies 🎓

Two different paths. The same starting point. And the same family behind them. We will continue to support them, from near and far, wherever rugby takes them, because this is also Ñandú: developing players, but above all, developing people, for life, and through every stage 🏉🫶

Nada menos que 12 jugadores y jugadoras de Ñandú Rugby Club han sido convocados por la Selección Canaria y hoy ponen rumbo a Valladolid para disputar el CESA este fin de semana.

Este logro es el reflejo de muchas horas de trabajo, compromiso, sacrificio y pasión por nuestro deporte. Estamos muy orgullosos de cada uno de ustedes y de todo lo que han hecho para llegar hasta aquí, representando a Canarias junto a los compañeros y las compañeras de todas las islas.

👏 Enhorabuena a Mateo, Boston, Jayden, Luca, Tomás y Lorenzo, y a Ariadna, Aurora, Vera, Irene, Rhianna y Noara.

No fewer than 12 players from Ñandú Rugby Club have been called up by the Canary Islands Selection and are now heading to Valladolid to compete in the CESA tournament this weekend.

This achievement is the result of many hours of hard work, commitment, sacrifice, and passion for our sport. We are very proud of each and every one of you and everything you have done to get here, representing the Canary Islands alongside teammates from across the islands.

👏 Congratulations to Mateo, Boston, Jayden, Luca, Tomás and Lorenzo, and to Ariadna, Aurora, Vera, Irene, Rhianna and Noara.

🇪🇸 𝐍̃𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮́ 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥: 𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 🏉🇬🇧

Nuestro viaje a Liverpool ha llegado a su fin, pero los recuerdos que nos llevamos durarán mucho tiempo.

🏉 Hemos disfrutado de un fantástico partido amistoso junto al equipo de Liverpool College, compartiendo rugby, valores y amistad más allá de las fronteras. También tuvimos la oportunidad de vivir el rugby profesional en directo asistiendo al emocionante encuentro entre Sale Sharks y Bristol Bears. Para muchos de nuestros jugador@s fue la primera vez viendo un partido de este nivel, y poder conocer a los jugadores después, conseguir firmas y llevarse algún recuerdo hizo la experiencia aún más especial.

🏙️ Además, hemos recorrido las calles de una ciudad fascinante, llena de historia, cultura, arquitectura y buena gente. Y cuando parecía que ya no nos quedaban fuerzas, todavía encontramos energía para afrontar el reto de Ninja Warrior.

❤️ Pero este viaje ha sido mucho más que rugby y actividades. Ha sido una oportunidad para convivir, compartir, reír, apoyarnos unos a otros y seguir creciendo como equipo. Hemos hecho piña como nunca y eso es lo que hace de nuestro club algo tan especial.

🙏 Queremos agradecer de corazón a nuestros entrenadores y a la directiva, que han dedicado meses y meses de trabajo para hacer realidad esta aventura. También a las familias que nos acompañaron y ayudaron en todo momento con la logística, la organización y mil detalles más. Y a quienes no estaban presentes, gracias por su confianza y por permitirnos compartir esta experiencia con sus hijos y hijas.

La temporada está llegando a su fin, y sinceramente no se nos ocurre una mejor manera de celebrarla (pero, stay tuned! 👀)

Our trip to Liverpool has come to an end, but the memories we've made will stay with us for a long time.

We enjoyed a fantastic friendly match with the players of Liverpool College, sharing rugby, values, and friendship beyond borders. We also had the opportunity to experience professional rugby firsthand by attending the exciting Premiership Rugby clash between Sale Sharks and Bristol Bears. For many of our players, it was their first time watching a match of this level, and getting the chance to meet the players afterwards, collect autographs, and take home special souvenirs made the experience even more memorable.

🏙️ We also explored the streets of a fascinating city, full of history, culture, stunning architecture, and kind people. And when it seemed like we had no energy left, we still found enough to take on the challenges of Ninja Warrior!

❤️ But this trip was about much more than just rugby and activities. It was an opportunity to spend time together, share experiences, laugh, support one another, and continue growing as a team. We bonded like never before and strengthened the connections that make this club so special.

🙏 We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our coaches and club committee, who dedicated months and months of hard work to make this adventure possible. Thank you also to the families who travelled with us and helped every step of the way with driving, logistics, organisation, and countless other details. And to those who couldn't be there, thank you for your trust and for allowing us to share this experience with your kids.

As the season draws to a close, we honestly couldn't think of a better way to celebrate everything we've achieved together (stay tuned for more end-of-season news 👀).

🇪🇸 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐥, 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚́ 𝐯𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬! 🇬🇧✈️

Este fin de semana, nuestro club emprende una aventura muy especial rumbo a Liverpool. Serán días llenos de rugby, equipo y momentos inolvidables: nos enfrentaremos a un equipo local en un partido amistoso, viviremos la experiencia de un encuentro profesional de la liga inglesa, descubriremos una de las ciudades más emblemáticas del Reino Unido y pondremos a prueba nuestros límites en Ninja Warrior.

Pero sobre todo, este viaje es una oportunidad para pasarlo bien en equipo, fortalecer amistades y crear recuerdos que nos acompañarán durante muchos años.

Nada de esto sería posible sin el apoyo de nuestros patrocinadores, entrenadores y directiva, que han trabajado duro para hacer realidad esta experiencia. Y, por supuesto, gracias a nuestras familias, por su confianza y por acompañarnos siempre en cada paso.

This weekend, our club is setting off on a very special adventure to Liverpool. It will be a weekend packed with rugby, team spirit, and unforgettable moments: we'll take on a local team in a friendly match, experience the atmosphere of a professional English league game, explore one of the UK's most iconic cities, and test our limits at Ninja Warrior.

But above all, this trip is an opportunity to have fun together as a team, strengthen friendships, and create memories that will stay with us for years to come.

None of this would be possible without the support of our sponsors, coaches, and club management, whose hard work has made this experience a reality. And, of course, a huge thank you to our families for their trust and for supporting us every step of the way.

𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲 𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞 🏉

El pasado 2 de mayo nuestra cantera viajó a Lanzarote para participar en el último torneo de la temporada… y qué manera de cerrarla! 🤩

Como siempre, fue una jornada increíble llena de rugby, diversión, compañerismo y muchísimo espíritu de equipo. Gracias a Lanzarote Rugby Club por la acogida y a todos los clubes que compartieron campo y momentos con nosotros. Desliza las fotos y revive la emoción del día 📸✨

Y aunque el calendario de rugby canario para nuestros peques ya terminó, en Ñandú todavía queda mucho por venir: nuestros S16/S18 viajarán a la CESA el próximo mes, se acerca un divertido torneo de forwards para los senior… y en solo dos semanas nos vamos a Liverpool! 👀✈️🇬🇧

Last May 2nd, our youth academy traveled to Lanzarote to take part in the final tournament of the season… and what a way to finish it! 🤩

As always, it was an incredible day full of rugby, fun, friendship, and an amazing team spirit. Thanks to Lanzarote Rugby Club for the warm welcome, and to all the clubs that shared the pitch and great moments with us. Swipe through the photos and relive the excitement of the day 📸✨

And although the Canary Islands rugby calendar for our little ones has now come to an end, there’s still so much more to come at Ñandú: our U16/U18 teams will travel to the CESA next month, a fun forwards tournament for the seniors is coming up… and in just two weeks, we’re off to Liverpool! 👀✈️🇬🇧

𝐐𝐮𝐞́ 𝐣𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐬 𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐚́𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝟐𝟓 𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐥! 🔥🏉

Ñandú organizó dos partidos amistosos y no pudimos disfrutar más.

Primero, junto con los clubes canarios, recibimos a Mareantes Rugby Club desde Galicia. Viejos conocidos desde nuestra visita a Pontevedra hace dos años, y fue un placer volver a compartir campo. Partido muy reñido, con muchísimo corazón por parte de nuestros jugador@s, y aunque el marcador no acompañó, lo más importante es lo que se vive: la amistad, la experiencia y la diversion. Nos encanta esta conexión tan bonita entre Galicia y Tenerife… siempre tendran una casa aquí, chicos! ❤️

Después, nuestros veteranos volvieron a ponerse las botas para enfrentarse a Macclesfield RUFC en un partido intenso pero muy divertido… demostrando que aún queda mucha chispa 💥

Ñandú hosted two friendly matches and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more.

First, together with the other Canarian clubs, we welcomed Mareantes Rugby Club from Galicia. Old friends since our visit to Pontevedra two years ago, and it was a pleasure to share the pitch with them again. It was a very close game, with our players giving it their al, and even though the score didn’t go our way, the most important part is what you take from it: friendship, experience, and good time. We love this special connection between Galicia and Tenerife… you’ll always have a home here, guys! ❤️

Then, our veterans laced up their boots again to face Macclesfield RUFC in an intense but very enjoyable match… proving there’s still plenty of spark left! 💥

Este sábado pasado, 18 de abril, participamos en una jornada espectacular en el torneo de categorías inferiores en Fuerteventura, y solo podemos decir una cosa: ¡qué orgullo de cantera tenemos ❤️💙

Fue un encuentro lleno de diversión y aprendizaje, donde pudimos ver de cerca cómo el rugby canario sigue creciendo gracias al trabajo de los clubes y Canarias Rugby… y sobre todo gracias a nuestros jugadores y jugadoras, que lo dieron todo y se lo pasaron en grande 🙌

Cada torneo es una oportunidad para mejorar, pero también para crecer como equipo y como personas. Y sí… nos volvemos más orgullosos que nunca 🫶

This past Saturday, April 18th, we participated in an amazing event at the youth tournament in Fuerteventura, and we can only say one thing: what incredible young players we have ❤️💙

It was a day full of fun and learning, where we got to see up close how Canarian rugby continues to grow thanks to the work of the clubs and Canarias Rugby… and above all thanks to our players, who gave it their all and had a fantastic time 🙌

Every tournament is an opportunity to improve, but also to grow as a team and as people. And yes… we couldn’t be prouder 🫶
