El pasado 2 de mayo nuestra cantera viajó a Lanzarote para participar en el último torneo de la temporada… y qué manera de cerrarla! 🤩

Como siempre, fue una jornada increíble llena de rugby, diversión, compañerismo y muchísimo espíritu de equipo. Gracias a Lanzarote Rugby Club por la acogida y a todos los clubes que compartieron campo y momentos con nosotros. Desliza las fotos y revive la emoción del día 📸✨

Y aunque el calendario de rugby canario para nuestros peques ya terminó, en Ñandú todavía queda mucho por venir: nuestros S16/S18 viajarán a la CESA el próximo mes, se acerca un divertido torneo de forwards para los senior… y en solo dos semanas nos vamos a Liverpool! 👀✈️🇬🇧

Last May 2nd, our youth academy traveled to Lanzarote to take part in the final tournament of the season… and what a way to finish it! 🤩

As always, it was an incredible day full of rugby, fun, friendship, and an amazing team spirit. Thanks to Lanzarote Rugby Club for the warm welcome, and to all the clubs that shared the pitch and great moments with us. Swipe through the photos and relive the excitement of the day 📸✨

And although the Canary Islands rugby calendar for our little ones has now come to an end, there’s still so much more to come at Ñandú: our U16/U18 teams will travel to the CESA next month, a fun forwards tournament for the seniors is coming up… and in just two weeks, we’re off to Liverpool! 👀✈️🇬🇧

𝐐𝐮𝐞́ 𝐣𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐦𝐨𝐬 𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐚́𝐛𝐚𝐝𝐨 𝟐𝟓 𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐥! 🔥🏉

Ñandú organizó dos partidos amistosos y no pudimos disfrutar más.

Primero, junto con los clubes canarios, recibimos a Mareantes Rugby Club desde Galicia. Viejos conocidos desde nuestra visita a Pontevedra hace dos años, y fue un placer volver a compartir campo. Partido muy reñido, con muchísimo corazón por parte de nuestros jugador@s, y aunque el marcador no acompañó, lo más importante es lo que se vive: la amistad, la experiencia y la diversion. Nos encanta esta conexión tan bonita entre Galicia y Tenerife… siempre tendran una casa aquí, chicos! ❤️

Después, nuestros veteranos volvieron a ponerse las botas para enfrentarse a Macclesfield RUFC en un partido intenso pero muy divertido… demostrando que aún queda mucha chispa 💥

Ñandú hosted two friendly matches and we couldn’t have enjoyed it more.

First, together with the other Canarian clubs, we welcomed Mareantes Rugby Club from Galicia. Old friends since our visit to Pontevedra two years ago, and it was a pleasure to share the pitch with them again. It was a very close game, with our players giving it their al, and even though the score didn’t go our way, the most important part is what you take from it: friendship, experience, and good time. We love this special connection between Galicia and Tenerife… you’ll always have a home here, guys! ❤️

Then, our veterans laced up their boots again to face Macclesfield RUFC in an intense but very enjoyable match… proving there’s still plenty of spark left! 💥

Este sábado pasado, 18 de abril, participamos en una jornada espectacular en el torneo de categorías inferiores en Fuerteventura, y solo podemos decir una cosa: ¡qué orgullo de cantera tenemos ❤️💙

Fue un encuentro lleno de diversión y aprendizaje, donde pudimos ver de cerca cómo el rugby canario sigue creciendo gracias al trabajo de los clubes y Canarias Rugby… y sobre todo gracias a nuestros jugadores y jugadoras, que lo dieron todo y se lo pasaron en grande 🙌

Cada torneo es una oportunidad para mejorar, pero también para crecer como equipo y como personas. Y sí… nos volvemos más orgullosos que nunca 🫶

This past Saturday, April 18th, we participated in an amazing event at the youth tournament in Fuerteventura, and we can only say one thing: what incredible young players we have ❤️💙

It was a day full of fun and learning, where we got to see up close how Canarian rugby continues to grow thanks to the work of the clubs and Canarias Rugby… and above all thanks to our players, who gave it their all and had a fantastic time 🙌

Every tournament is an opportunity to improve, but also to grow as a team and as people. And yes… we couldn’t be prouder 🫶

Last March 14th, we took part in the final matchday of the Cabildo Games in Los Realejos, with as fantastic hosts. It was a day full of learning, teamwork, and healthy, friendly competition for our youth teams… and of course, plenty of great rugby ❤️💙

🇪🇸 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐞𝐧 𝐍̃𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮́ 𝐑𝐮𝐠𝐛𝐲 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 ✨

Este mes nos dejó grandes momentos dentro y fuera del campo.

🏉 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒊𝒐́𝒏 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒂 – 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒆 𝑬𝒔𝒑𝒂𝒏̃𝒂
Nuestras chicas S16 y S19 viajaron a Toledo para representar a Canarias en el Campeonato de Selecciones Autonómicas de 2ª División. Además de vivir una experiencia increíble, ¡nuestras S16 se trajeron la medalla de plata! 🥈

Pero el rugby va más allá del marcador. Durante el viaje también participaron en el proyecto Crossborder Femenino, donde tuvieron la oportunidad de aprender directamente de referentes del rugby femenino español y compartir momentos de crecimiento, conexión y aprendizaje.

Gracias Canarias Rugby por la oportunidad y por seguir impulsando el rugby femenino. Y por supuesto, ¡enhorabuena a nuestras jugadoras Irene, Ariadna, Aurora y Noara! Estamos muy orgullosos de ustedes 🙌

También vivimos otra gran jornada de rugby en una nueva edición de los Juegos del Cabildo, organizada por Boatmen Rugby Club. Desde los más pequeños hasta S14, nuestros jugadores compartieron campo con clubes de toda Canarias, disfrutando del rugby mientras siguen creciendo en técnica, compañerismo y trabajo en equipo.

Febrero nos recordó por qué amamos este deporte: viajes, aprendizaje, equipo y mucha pasión por el rugby.

Seguimos creciendo, seguimos aprendiendo… seguimos siendo Ñandú 💙❤️🏉

This month brought us some great moments both on and off the pitch.

🏉 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝑺𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 – 𝑺𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑
Our U16 and U19 girls travelled to Toledo to represent the Canary Islands in the Spanish Regional Teams Championship (2nd Division). Besides having an amazing experience, our U16 girls also came home with the silver medal! 🥈

But rugby goes beyond the scoreboard. During the trip they also took part in the Crossborder Women’s Project, where they had the opportunity to learn directly from leading figures in Spanish women’s rugby and share moments of growth, connection, and continuous learning.

Thank you Canarias Rugby for the opportunity and for continuing to support women’s rugby. And of course, congratulations to our amazing players Irene, Ariadna, Aurora and Noara. We are incredibly proud of you 🙌

February reminded us why we love this sport: travel, learning, teamwork, and a shared passion for rugby.

El pasado sábado 22 de noviembre vivimos una jornada inolvidable de rugby en la isla 🏉

Dimos la bienvenida a todos los clubes de las islas y disfrutamos de partidos entre todas las categorías, desde los más peques hasta los más grandes. Un día lleno de compañerismo, diversión y muchísimo rugby para la categoría base, tal y como nos gusta.

En paralelo se celebró también la segunda jornada del circuito Rugby X. Aunque el marcador no acompañó a nuestros seniors, seguimos creciendo y dejando el corazón en cada jugada 💪🔥

Cerramos el día como manda la tradición: un gran tercer tiempo compartido alrededor de una deliciosa paella. Porque el rugby también es eso: unión y comunidad 🤝🥘

Last Saturday, November 22nd, we enjoyed an unforgettable day of rugby on the island 🏉

We welcomed clubs from across the islands and enjoyed matches from all categories, from the youngest players to the more grown up ones. A day full of team spirit, fun, and tons of rugby for our youth categories, just how we like it.

At the same time, the second round of the Rugby X circuit took place. Even though the scoreboard wasn’t in our seniors’ team favor, we continue to improve and leave our hearts on the field in every play 💪🔥

We closed the day the traditional way: sharing a big third half around a delicious paella. Because rugby is also about unity and community 🤝🥘

El 25 de noviembre, Ñandú Rugby Club tuvo el honor de ser invitado a la Gala APDT del Deporte de Tenerife, donde fuimos reconocidos con el premio Educar Entrenando, en representación de los clubes deportivos del sur de la isla 🏆

Celebrar el quinto aniversario de este proyecto nos hace repasar con orgullo cuánto hemos crecido como club, como comunidad, y sobre todo como familia, junto a Educar Entrenando. A lo largo de estos años hemos participado en innumerables cursos, talleres y eventos: hemos aprendido, mejorado, crecido, y nos hemos forjado con herramientas que trascienden lo deportivo. Porque en Ñandú, todo lo que hacemos es por y para nuestros jóvenes jugadores y jugadoras ❤️💙

Ahora creemos con aún más firmeza que los valores de Educar Entrenando son los mismos que los del rugby: respeto, empatía, igualdad, compromiso, compañerismo. Deporte como educación, deporte como herramienta social, deporte con valores 🙌

On November 25th, Ñandú Rugby Club had the honor of being invited to the Tenerife Sports Press Gala, where we were awarded the Educar Entrenando prize, representing the sports clubs of the south of the island 🏆

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of this project fills us with pride as we reflect on how much we have grown as a club, as a community, and above all as a family, together with Educar Entrenando. Over the years we have taken part in countless courses, workshops, and events: we have learned, improved, grown, and equipped ourselves with tools that go beyond sports. Because at Ñandú, everything we do is for and because of our young players ❤️💙

Now, more than ever, we firmly believe that the values of Educar Entrenando are the same as those of rugby: respect, empathy, equality, commitment, and teamwork. Sports as education, sports as a social tool, sports with values 🙌
