International Partnership Transforms Somabay into a Regional Hub for Water Sports and Water Polo

Somabay Development Company signed a strategic partnership with TOMO Water Polo to launch “TOMO Somabay Egypt,” aiming to develop water polo and expand training and competition opportunities along the Red Sea.

The initiative reflects a broader shift toward sports tourism as a driver of destination competitiveness, leveraging Somabay’s infrastructure to attract international camps and tournaments. While the move enhances Egypt’s positioning in niche sports segments and supports tourism diversification, its long-term impact will depend on sustained event programming, international participation, and integration with broader tourism and hospitality ecosystems.

Tomo Tournament Expands to Egypt with Landmark Partnership in Somabay

Dubrovnik , Croatia — Monday, 6th of April 2026

TOMO Water Polo has officially signed a strategic partnership to launch TOMO Somabay Egypt, marking its first expansion into North Africa.

The signing ceremony brought together key stakeholders from Jug Club, Mindset for Sports Development, and Somabay, reflecting a shared vision to elevate water polo standards and create new opportunities for youth development.

Tomislav Dumancic, President of Jug Club and TOMO Franchise Owner, stated:

“We are proud to see TOMO grow beyond Europe and into a promising market like Egypt.”

Ezz Nour, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, added:
