ما هي المعالجة بالأوكسجين؟

الأوكسجين هو غاز يوجد في الهواء الذي نتنفسه، وهو ضروري لحياة الإنسان. لا يستطيع بعض الأشخاص الذين يعانون من اضطرابات التنفس الحصول على أوكسجين كاف بشكل طبيعي. وربما يحتاجون إلى أوكسجين إضافي، أو إلى المعالجة بالأوكسجين. ويلاحظ الأشخاص الذين يتلقون المعالجة بالأوكسجين تحسناً غالباً في مستويات الطاقة، وتحسناً في النوم، وتحسناً شاملاً في نوعية حياتهم.

من الذي يحتاج إلى المعالجة بالأوكسجين؟

نصف المعالجة بالأوكسجين للأشخاص الذين لا يستطيعون الحصول على أوكسجين كاف بأنفسهم. والسبب هنا على الأغلب هو حالة الرئة التي تمنع الرئتين من امتصاص الأوكسجين، وتشمل:

• مرض الرئة الانسدادي المزمن COPD
• ذات الرئة (الالتهاب الرئوي)
• الربو

• انقطاع التنفس أثناء النوم
• مرض في الرئة
سيختبر الطبيب كمية الأوكسجين في دم المريض لتحديد ما إذا كان المريض سيستفيد من المعالجة بالأوكسجين. وتعني المستويات المنخفضة أن الشخص قد يكون مرشحاً جيداً لأوكسجين إضافي.
يحتاج بعض الأشخاص المعالجة بالأوكسجين طوال الوقت، بينما يحتاجه البعض الآخر أحياناً فقط أو في ظروف معينة. وتجرى بعض المعالجات بالأوكسجين في عيادة الطبيب، إلا أن بعض الأشخاص يمتلكون مزود الأوكسجين في منازلهم أو نظام الأوكسجين المتنقل portable oxygen system
