โ๐น The Red Seaโs Natural Aquarium
Located about 60 to 90 minutes south of Big Giftun Island near Hurghada, Gota Abu Ramada has rightfully earned its famous nickname, "The Aquarium.
" This vibrant dive site features a shallow, sunlit sandy plateau ranging between 12 to 15 meters deep, making it a peaceful haven for divers and snorkelers of all experience levels.
โ๐น Topography and Underwater Landscape
The site offers exceptionally calm currents and clear visibility, creating a stress-free environment for underwater exploration.
The eastern side is celebrated for its shallow coral gardens, massive brain corals, and small grottoes. Over on the west side, large coral pinnacles (ergs) rise from the seabed, covered in colorful soft corals, deep cracks, and overhangs. Towards the outer perimeter, the topography drops past 40 meters into the blue.
โ๐น Rich Marine Biodiversity
Gota Abu Ramada is packed with sea life at every turn. Massive schools of bannerfish, butterflyfish, yellow goatfish, sweetlips, and triggerfish constantly circle the main reef blocks. Tucked inside the coral crevices, you will easily spot giant moray eels, blue-spotted stingrays, and busy cleaning stations hosted by small gobies and cleaner shrimp.

For those looking toward the deeper outer edges, the site frequently attracts larger marine species. It is common to spot resident groupers, schools of jacks, and hunting barracudas patrolling the drop-offs, with occasional visits from white-tip reef sharks and majestic eagle rays passing through the open water.
