POV: You’ve had a long day… so you just float here. 😁🐬

But what is this dolphin actually doing down there? 👀

As strange as it may look, being close to the seabed can be part of several normal dolphin behaviours. 🌊

🐬 Looking for food – Dolphins can forage close to the bottom, using echolocation to detect prey. Some may investigate the sand or move around the seabed while searching for fish and other small animals.

😴 Taking a break – Dolphins do rest, although they can’t simply switch off and sleep like we do. They need to remain conscious enough to breathe, so resting can involve periods of very relaxed, slow movement.

🔎 Exploring – Dolphins are highly curious animals and often investigate their surroundings using both sight and echolocation. A sandy seabed can be an interesting place to explore, especially when potential prey may be hiding nearby.

🎾 Playing or interacting – Depending on what is happening around the animal, unusual body positions can also be part of playful or social behaviour.

So… is this little guy hunting for a snack, exploring the seabed, taking a well-deserved break… or simply enjoying the view? 😊💙

Heute hatten wir das unfassbare Glück, eines der beeindruckendsten Tiere unter Wasser zu treffen… einen WALHAI! 😍
