Celebrating a decade of excellence at the Ice Lab 🎉

On May 5th, 2026, Ice Lab, Center of Excellence, marked its 10th anniversary - not just with a look back at a decade of growth, but with the energy of an Olympic season that recently concluded in Italy.

Dr. Heba Guirgis, representing Ice Skate Egypt, was invited as a guest, friend, and community leader. Her invitation underscores the growing global bridge between Egyptian skating, regional skating, and world-class centers of excellence. Alongside her: the leaders, the athletes who chase podiums, the coaches who shape champions, the partners who believe in the vision, and the friends who have been part of this journey since day one.

📍 Two milestones, one stage:
🔹 10 years of Ice Lab – A decade of technique, artistry, and building a legacy on ice.
🔹 The Olympic season – Not as a countdown, but as a celebration. Milano Cortina 2026 may have concluded, but its spirit, its discipline, its moments of glory and heart now live in every skater who trained at the Ice Lab.

This wasn't just an anniversary. It was a celebration of what endures after the medals are awarded: the community, the commitment, and the next ten years ahead.

🇪🇬⚡ إنجاز تاريخي لمصر في الرياضات الثلجية

لأول مرة، تشارك مصر في مؤتمر الاتحاد الدولي للتزلج والرياضات الثلجيه (FIS)، و يمثلها د. هبة جرجس، رئيسة الاتحاد واللجنة المصرية للتزلج و الرياضات الثلجية، و أ. رانيا مهيب، الأمين العام.

🌍 أقيم المؤتمر في سلوفينيا خلال الفترة من 4 إلى 7 مايو 2026، وركزت على التطوير والعضويات، واستعراض أفضل الممارسات والأدوات الاستراتيجية لدعم نمو الاتحادات الوطنية.

🤝 تم عقد اجتماعات مثمرة مع السيد ديميتري لازاروفسكي مدير برامج التطوير بالاتحاد الدولي، إلى جانب مناقشات بناءة مع ممثلي الاتحادات في المنطقه.

مصر تتقدم بثبات نحو مستقبل واعد في الرياضات الشتوية. ❄️🏔️

🚨 Historic first for Egypt! 🇪🇬⛷️❄️

For the first time ever, Egypt has officially participated in the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Seminar - marking a giant leap for winter sports in our region.

🇸🇮 Held May 4–7, 2026, in Portorož, Slovenia, the FIS Seminar & Spring Technical Meetings brought together global leaders in ski and snowboard development. Egypt was proudly represented by Heba Guirgis, President of the Egyptian Ski and Snowboard Committee, and Rania Moheeb, Secretary General.

The focus? Development and Membership — with powerful sessions on best practices, strategic growth tools, and sustainable frameworks for National Ski Associations.

🤝 Productive meetings were held with Mr. Dimitrije Lazarovski, Director for Development Programmes, alongside engaging, forward-looking discussions with federation delegates from across our region.

يتقدم الاتحاد المصري للتزحلق على الجليد بالشكر و العرفان للدعم الكبير الذي تقدمه سعادة السيدة هالة يوسف رجب، سفيرة مصر لدى تايلاند، وفريق السفارة المصرية المحترم بالتعاون مع وزارة الشباب و الرياضة.

لقد كان من دواعي اعتزازنا أن نشهد هذا التفاعل الهادف مع لاعبة التزحلق على الجليد المصرية ياسمين أحمد وهو خير دليل على التزام السفارة بدعم المواهب المصرية على الساحة الدولية. إن تشجيعهم لها خلال مشاركتها في بطولة تايلاند أوبن انتر كلوب للتزحلق على الجليد في بانكوك كان في غاية التأثير والتحفيز.

نتقدم بخالص الشكر لسعادة السيدة هالة وفريق السفارة على وقتهم، وتشجيعهم الصادق، ودعمهم للرياضة. إن رؤية دبلوماسيينا وهم يرفعون من شأن الرياضة و الرياضيين يعزز قوة الفخر الوطني والدبلوماسية الثقافية من خلال الرياضة.

It was a privilege to witness their meaningful engagement with Egyptian figure skater Yasmin Ahmed - a true testament to their commitment to championing Egyptian talent on the international stage. Their encouragement in the Thailand Open Interclub Figure Skating Trophy in Bangkok was not only timely but deeply motivating.

We extend our sincere gratitude to H.E. Mrs. Ragab and the Embassy for their time, genuine encouragement, and steadfast presence. To see our diplomats actively uplifting our athletes reinforces the power of national pride and cultural diplomacy through sport.

Egyptian Figure Skater, Yasmin Ahmed, steps onto the international stage with poise and promise. 🌟

Debuting for Ice Skate Egypt at the Thailand Open Interclub Figure Skating Trophy in Bangkok, the 2026 Egyptian National Cubs Champion delivered a composed performance at the Basic Pre-Novice level, securing 7th place among 30 talented skaters.

A proud moment for Egyptian skating and just the beginning of Yasmin’s journey.

Congratulations, Yasmin! A brilliant international debut that inspires a new generation of Egyptian skaters. 👏🇪🇬⛸

With deep gratitude and warm hearts, we bid a fond farewell to Coach Tamara Chamberlin -a true pillar of dedication, grace, and inspiration within the Ice Skate Egypt family.

Coach Tamara has poured her passion onto the ice, shaping not only the skills of our figure skaters but also their character, resilience, and belief in themselves. Our athletes grew in confidence, technique, and artistry.

While we will miss her presence, we carry forward the lessons, laughter, and love she shared so freely. We wish her nothing but success, joy, and continued impact in whatever rink she graces next. Once a part of our skating family, always a part of our story.

The 6th edition of the Egyptian National Figure Skating Championships and Festival 2026 was one for the books. ✨

34 of Egypt’s finest skaters took to the ice, pouring their hearts into every spin, jump, and step across all levels and disciplines. From our rising stars to our seasoned champions, the talent on display was absolutely breathtaking.

This isn’t just a competition; it’s proof that figure skating is growing and thriving right here in Egypt. 🇪🇬

Huge congratulations to every single skater who competed, and a massive thank you to everyone who came out to support Egyptian skating! See you next year! 👏
