Lagona Divers - Technical OC and CCR Courses up to Hypoxic Trimix Instructor
Guided Dives Tec dives all around Dahab

03/04/2026

Ehab is currently working through his Extended Range Trimix Instructor development with Andy here in Dahab.

Moving into instructor-level training means going beyond performing skills — it’s about understanding, structuring, and being able to teach them clearly and consistently.

From academic sessions to in-water work, the focus is on building the level of control, awareness, and communication required to guide other divers safely.

Good progress so far — We are looking forward to the next steps.

Congratulations to Jessica for completing her XCCR rebreather Advanced Recreational Trimix Plus course with instructor Kerstin here in Dahab.

Over the past month, she’s been fully committed to getting familiar with her new unit, building up to around 40 hours on her XCCR through a combination of training and regular dives.

Throughout that time, she showed a high level of focus and dedication, steadily developing both confidence and control on the rebreather.

Jessica now qualifies as an Advanced Recreational Trimix Plus diver, certified to a maximum depth of 51 meters on her XCCR.

A pleasure to have her here over the past weeks — and great to see this level of commitment to doing things properly.

Well done, Jessica.

Today we started a CCR Normoxic Trimix (MOD2) course on the Triton rebreather here in Dahab.

Ian has begun the training together with Andy, focusing on the next step in CCR diver development.
MOD2 is where depth and decompression increase, and with that comes a greater need for precision, discipline, and strong fundamental skills.
As always, training starts with the basics:
• trim and buoyancy
• basic skills
• team procedures

Before progressing deeper, we focus on building consistency, control, and teamwork in every dive.
Looking forward to the next days of training and the progression ahead.

Here’s our team member Ehab during one of his first underwater minutes on the CCR Triton, currently completing MOD 1 training with Andy.

The Triton is a lightweight, chest-mounted CCR, designed for simplicity, clean configuration, and precise control.

At MOD 1 level the focus is not depth or range, but foundations:
• buoyancy and trim
• loop management
• situational awareness
• disciplined procedures from the very first dives

We believe CCR training should start slow, structured, and uncompromising, especially when it comes to mindset and skills.

If you’re interested in CCR Triton training and want to approach rebreather diving the right way, get in touch with us to discuss option

Let us say how proud we are of Michael!

Not only did he finish his TDI Intro to Tech, but he also powered on and finished his Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures courses with our very own Kerstin who attests that he did a marvellous job!

Thank you for choosing us Michael to start your technical diving journey, with the hopes that we'll be seeing you soon for dives to discover the deeper parts of our seas!

PA snapshot from a recent Foundations course with René.

These sessions are deliberately “unexciting” — because the goal is to build a platform that stays solid when the dives get more complex: better stability in the water, efficient movement, and clean team habits. Pool time lets us isolate skills, repeat them, and keep standards consistent.

Great effort from René throughout the course — steady improvements and the right mindset.

If you’re aiming for technical training (deco, sidemount, trimix, CCR), message us and we’ll recommend the best pathway based on your current level and goals.

Stephan finished his SSI Hypoxic Trimix course with Andy over 5 days, ending with a great final dive at the Blue Hole. ✅

This level is all about building a reliable process for hypoxic trimix dives: managing multiple gas switches, executing multi-stop decompression, and keeping the team procedures crisp from descent to last stop.

He also spent nearly a month in Dahab combining guided technical dives and a Technical Sidemount course — putting in the time that turns skills into habits.

One of the big advantages here is logistics: with most tech sites reached by pickup, dives can be planned around weather and tide, keeping the day calm and the focus on the dive.

If you’re thinking about your own tech training block in Dahab, message us and we’ll map out options based on your current level and goals.

Big congratulations to Ian!
He’s just finished his IANTD Advanced Recreational Trimix Plus course on the Triton mCCR with Andy.

The last dive took us through Dahab’s famous Canyon — an epic way to wrap up the training and mark Ian’s step into the CCR world.

After getting back into technical diving last year on open circuit, Ian has now made the jump to closed circuit. It was great having him back with us, and we’re looking forward to seeing where his CCR journey takes him next.

This week marks a very special moment for us at Lagona Divers Technical.
Our returning customer Ian Pinkstone has started his IANTD CCR Advanced Recreational Trimix course on the Triton with Andy as his instructor.

Ian isn’t new to the world of exploration – back in the early 2000s he was an avid technical and cave diver, involved in major cave exploration projects in both the UK and France. After a break of almost 20 years, he returned to technical diving with us last year, completing several hypoxic dives on open circuit.

Now, the time has come for the next big step: moving into the world of closed circuit rebreather diving. We’re excited to guide him on this journey and to finally welcome him to the CCR side of technical diving.

Andy is especially thrilled to teach Ian on the Triton, and we’re looking forward to sharing more updates and videos from his course very soon.
