Eating carbs before your workout improves strength, performance, and training intensity, which means you burn more calories, not less.

Carbs only turn into fat when total daily calories are consistently higher than your needs — not because you ate them before training.

What most people mistake for “fat gain” is usually water retention and fuller muscle glycogen stores.

Fat gain comes from a calorie surplus, not from carbs before your workout
