Began Boxing in 1986, achieved many titles in the light heavy weight category such as "South Zone Boxing Champion (Gold), All India University Boxing Championship (3 Gold’s in 1989, 1991 & 1992 respectively), All India AK Mishra Memorial Boxing Championship -1992, Bronze Medals at Senior national championships, National Games of India.
