WHAT IS CAREER COACHING?
A more formal definition of career coaching from the International Federation of Coaching (ICF) states that a career coach partners with you in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential. Coaches honor you as the expert in your life and work and believe you are creative, resourceful and whole. Standing on this foundation, the coach’s responsibility is to:

Discover, clarify, and align with what you want to achieve
Encourage self-discovery
Elicit solutions and strategies
Hold you responsible and accountable
This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.

Helps raise awareness around an issue and generates new thinking to bring about solutions it sits into the present and looks at the future.

CONSULTING
analyses on issue for you and provides solutions

COUNSELING
assists in solving past / present issues give solutions

MENTORING
gives advice based on one’s past experience

TRAINING
is a transfer of knowledge from trainer to trainee

THERAPY
deals with past issues no future action is recommended

A training strategy that involves pairing experienced professionals with newer employees to:

- Help them adapt to the environment and culture of the work place.

- To help them settle into surroundings and get off to a good start.

- To provide them benefit from personal guidance on specific job duties, processes or responsibilities.

- To help develop other employees along a specific career path, such as management.
