Time for our monthly digest.

August was great! Let's dive head first in a recap of it: First of all, we ran Unicon 2026 tournaments. This year it felt much more complete and organized than before. It only means that the community and organizing core are growing rapid fast. 9 tournaments in 3 days with something besides fighting games, felt well placed at that type of festival. Post production also went pretty fast, which makes us very happy to keep working on that kind of stuff. And, come on! Biggest bracket in Tekken 8 with 54 people was pretty cool to run! We are already planning lineup for Unicon Winter in January. GBVSR players, better get prepared! 2027 is your year.
We started to promote DNA. It will be our first ever 3-day event with invitationals, open brackets, community brackets and much, much more. It already feels like an Ultimate BFGL experience, and we will make sure for it to be this exact way. We already got some backing from the SNK, who are behind KOF series and Fatal Fury series. Kind of proud actually!
Last week we went to see two bars, who are potentially will be our future event venues as well. We are not yet talking about the names, but be sure to hit us up, if you need a venue. We can recommend you one and give you some contacts, because we don't have so much time to be everywhere.

We are not the only ones to do cool stuff in august though! The whole region was wilding and it's something beautiful.
Latvian community hosted at least 4 offline events, RMP ones, general FGC ones, both tournaments and casuals. Amazing work! Lithuanias on the other hand, soloed the online segment! 4 online brackets, 3 of them for Strive and one for Avatar Legends.

Baltic FGC was fully occupied. Absolute FGC.

What was happening inside of the BFGL? Not much, we always working, planning, making sure things are smooth. We went to the movies, watched new Spider-Man. Great team-building stuff. And as the Home League goes - we started 7th season of it and it will last for 12 months. First tournament was fun and full of emotions. We can't wait to play Tekken 8 next month with a side of cooking contest.

And Plans for the september are pretty simple, to be honest:
- Talk to people at Patch Notes about all the things we have coming
- Run TipiLAN 2026 tournaments
- Prepare everyone and everything for october, november and DNA, of course.

"TOURNAMENTS ARE COOL, BUT WHAT ABOUT MONEY? " YOU MAY ASK.

TipiLAN 2026 provides us with a prize pool of 700€ total, which is equally divided between 7 tournaments. This is where being good in multiple games pays off.

LET'S MEET AND TALK A LITTLE BIT!

We offer you to come and discuss some topics regarding BFGL and our events + many other things.
Point of "Patch Note" is not tournaments, competition or anything like that. Mostly it's about planning, talking, brainstorming etc.
Last time we hosted it at the cafe, which was nice. This time we move to PandaYama and gonna set some tables and use some TV as a screen for showing stuff.

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THE INVITATIONAL BRACKET ON THE DNA!?

It's quite simple, actually.
In January we started tracking Baltic FGC Leaderboard both for individual games and an overall board. It was made for us to keep an eye on how the community places across different events and some other info. It has its flaws, no doubt. System will me upgraded, modified, since there is no perfect way to do anything in the world.

Competitive Season is a time period when we count points and they affect the "bigger picture" . Season is January through August with Unicon being the last event of the season, since it happens in the middle point of our region.

Shortly:
If your game gets at least 50 players throughout the season - it will be featured at DNA in november in form of an invitational bracket.
Players who finish in top 7 of their game will get an invite DMed to them.
50 Players threshold is actually quite effective, since it kind of makes player bases to engage more and lure more people to play their game of choice.

To make things interesting, we leave the last spot for a winner of the LCQ bracket, which happens day before the invitationals. The winner of it get the 8th seed of the bracket.

This year Main Attraction of the DNA are Invitational brackets for:
- Tekken 8
- Street Fighter 6
- Guilty Gear: Strive

Winners of these will get money, fame, respect of the hood, bragging rights, fancy diplomas, unique trophies that will be exclusively designed for that specific event and the title of this years best player in their game.
