The NSRA GB Junior International kicks off today at the Lord Roberts Centre, Bisley, and runs through to the 20th August, and we've got 4 Isle of Man athletes representing the island across the events!

Well done to Kathryn Holden for her excellent performance representing Great Britain at the Nordic Shooting Championships in Estonia. She scored 550 in her individual match, qualifying for the final in 6th place and finishing 5th in the final.

In her pairs match Kathryn was teamed with Hamish from Scotland. She scored a super 281/300 seeing the pair qualify for the final. She shot a brilliant final, starting with 51.2 in her first string of 5 shots and averaged 9.88 per shot overall. Unfortunately the GB duo were knocked out in 4th place, missing a medal by 1.2 points. The medals went to

This was her first GB selection and her first time competing outside the British Isles. Kathryn would like to thank everyone who helped her, especially coach Owen for his support and guidance. She had a great time and has plenty of stories to tell of her first competition abroad, especially of her eventful journey home.

🎯 Congratulations to Kathryn Holden!

Isle of Man Shooting is delighted to share that Kathryn Holden has been selected to represent Great Britain in Pistol at the Nordic Championships, taking place in Estonia, from 5th to 9th August 2026.

This marks Kathryn's first selection to shoot for Great Britain - a brilliant achievement and a proud moment for our shooting community.

The Nordic Championships is a valuable stepping stone for athletes beginning their international careers, and it's fantastic to see Kathryn take this step onto the GB stage.

Everyone at Isle of Man Shooting wishes Kathryn the very best of luck in Estonia next month. We'll be following her progress closely and cheering her on every step of the way!

🎯 MANX YOUTH GAMES 2026

Yesterday saw target shooting featuring in the Manx Youth Games for the very first time, and our 12 young athletes rose to the occasion brilliantly. Every single one of them can be really proud of what they achieved. The progress made since our first training session back in January has been impressive to see, and yesterday was the perfect showcase of just how far they've all come.

The day began with an opening ceremony at the National Sports Centre, with our participants led out by our flag bearer for the day, Peter Farnworth. Then after travelling to Sinclair Range all 12 participants completed in a 30-shot qualification round before the action really heated up with ‘knock-out’ finals after lunch.

What a nail-biter the B final was! The top three positions could not be separated by score alone, leading to a series of dramatic head-to-head shoot-offs. First, Aimee (West) edged out Antonio (South) with a 4 to his 3. Then it took two shoot-offs between Aimee and Olivia (East) to settle the top spot. After matching each other 4-4 at the first attempt, Olivia scored a 4 to Aimee's 3 to pip her.

The A final was also a tense affair, with Brayden (South), Ryan (East), and Cliodhna (East) all locked together at the halfway point. Ryan gradually found another gear and pulled clear to take the win, with Cliodhna a superb second and Brayden rounding out the top three on the day.

The Isle of Man will be sending a team to the Junior International competition, which takes place from 𝟏𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at Bisley and Worplesdon in Surrey.

If you are 𝟐𝟏 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝟑𝟏 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 and would like to be considered for selection, please get in touch.

Speak to an official at your club and ask them to contact us for more details.

You will need a UK visitor’s permit. We can help coordinate the applications through the NSRA, but you must apply as soon as possible to allow enough time for processing before the event.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
- All juniors are responsible for arranging their own transport and accommodation.
- Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please also be aware that these dates clash with this year’s 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐱 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐱 so you may need to plan your travel and accommodation carefully.

On this day in 2018, the Isle of Man won its first (and only) medal of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games!

Shooter Tim Kneale claimed silver in the Men's Double Trap at the Belmont Shooting Centre in Brisbane with a brilliant performance.

A proud moment for Manx shooting and the IOM!
This also remains the Isle of Man's most recent Commonwealth Games medal to date.

A strong turnout at the Sinclair Range for the NSRA Club Instructor Course, with members from Castletown, Laxey, Port St Mary, Sandsiders, Sulby and Peveril all taking part.
Plenty of good discussion and learning throughout, with the course expertly delivered by regional instructor Martin Lowe.
