I’ve just returned from spending almost whole of August in Estonia, my home country, and once again I’m reminded how much our bodies register change.

A change in climate (definitely no heat wave in Estonia). Change in light and length of the days. Change in rhythms and routines. The subtle shift from one place, one season, one way of being into another.

And I find myself reaching for the wisdom of the Earth element.

In the Chinese Medicine Five Element cycle, Earth invites us to slow down, find our centre, receive support and consider what truly nourishes us.

Not as a way of resisting change but as a way of finding our ground within change.

This is also the inspiration for my next seasonal somatic yoga series:

🌿EARTH — Grounding, Nourishment & Finding Your Centre

For four weeks, we’ll explore the Earth phase through somatic movement, Somatic Flow, Yin Yoga and QiGong.

We’ll work with grounding, functional strength, mobility, balance, slowing down, listening, receiving and nourishment - exploring these qualities not just as ideas, but as things we can actually sense and experience in our bodies.

Two live online practices each week:

Mondays Somatic Flow 6pm CET (starts on Sept 7)
Somatics, flow, strength, mobility & balance

Wednesdays Somatic Yin & QiGong (starts on Sept 9)
Slowing down, listening, softening & receiving

Choose one or let them support each other.

All classes are recorded, so you can join live or practice in your own time.

A practice for this particular season.
A practice for coming back to yourself.
A practice for finding your centre even as things change.

Yin and Fascia Teacher Training

This is part of a series of posts that will give you a sneak peak into the separate module of Yinvolution training.

Module 1: FUNCTIONAL ANATOMY

Inspired by Paul Grilley’s functional approach, we begin in Module 1 exploring skeletal variation and the understanding that no two bodies are the same.

From there, we broaden the conversation.

We discover how our human variation includes fascia, muscles, psychosomatics, the nervous system and our lived experience. How it all influences how we move, how we sense and how we experience a Yin practice.

Rather than simply learning poses, we learn to understand bodies, movement and the people in front of us.

It’s the foundation for everything that follows throughout the training.

Applications for our 2027 Yin & Fascia Teacher Training are now open. Link in bio.

AUGUST IS OPEN TO EVERYONE
www.patreon.com/liinayoga

ON MY PATREON page, I’ve decided to make all of my August posts free for everyone.

Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing two new practices each week to accompany you wherever you are - whether you’re on holiday, enjoying a staycation, or simply moving through everyday life. Think of these as little pockets of ease, flow, and the simple joy of being in your body.

Join as a free member any time! The first practice drops on Wednesday, August 5, from thereon new practices release every Sunday and Wednesday in August.

And if these practices resonate with you and you’d like to help me continue creating them, I’d absolutely love to welcome some of you as paid members. Your support allows me to keep sharing classes, practices and resources and it truly helps a lot to sustain my choice to live a simpler life in rural Italy.

Here’s to an August of slowing down, moving with kindness, and finding moments of joy wherever you are.

We’re so happy to finally share it...

Yin & Fascia Teacher Training 2027 is now open for applications.

Since 2020, we’ve welcomed yoga teachers, movement practitioners, bodyworkers, therapists, social workers and curious learners into a training that goes beyond learning Yin Yoga.

Together we explore the connections between fascia, functional anatomy, nervous system science, Traditional Chinese Medicine, somatic movement and the art of holding space - with curiosity, critical thinking and embodied practice at the centre.

We hope to support each participant in developing their own voice, grounded in understanding, shaped by experience, and expressed with authenticity.

The training is delivered through diverse learning resource and formats like lectures, posture labs, practice teaching, discussion, reflection and a community that continues long after the final module.

If you’ve been looking for a Yin training that bridges science and embodied wisdom, we’d love to welcome you.

Applications are now open.

All details including dates, curriculum and upcoming module spotlights can be found via the link in our bio. / www.liinayoga.com/yinyogatt

And stay tuned - over the coming weeks we’ll take you inside each part of the training- from fascia and functional anatomy to nervous system science, TCM, teaching methodology and the values that shape how we teach.

Last year’s Muhu retreat was the first retreat my husband has ever attended. Mine or otherwise.

Over the years, he’s been behind the scenes supporting my retreats, and he has his own committed daily practice of yoga, meditation, and breathwork. He always speaks so highly of my work. But for him to fully attend the whole retreat as a participant was something entirely different.

As a teacher, inviting a family member into a retreat can feel surprisingly vulnerable. I wasn’t 100% sure what it would be like for either of us. Witnessing how deeply the experience touched him was quite moving and encouraging.

Perhaps a husband’s testimonial comes across as biased... That’s okay. For me, it is a reminder that these practices don’t belong to a particular kind of person. They meet each of us where we are. And sometimes, even the people closest to us still have something new to discover.

I hope you enjoy hearing about his experience 💙

There are a few spots left on both retreats!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME 🎉✨🥞☀️

I am in my last year of my 40s, turning 49 today.

I woke up this morning in a quiet, reflective, and tender mood. Having lost people close to me in the last month, I feel so clearly what a privilege aging is.

I’m a mixture of sad and grateful today. I find myself wanting to move more slowly and be quieter.

When I look back at the past decades, I see clearly how lost I was in my 20s. I see the ardent nomad and seeker of inner and outer worlds that I was in my 30s.

The theme of my 40s has not revealed itself yet. I’m still too much in it to see it clearly or capture it in a snapshot. So I’ll keep living in it as fully as I can💚

(The picture captures yesterday’s more celebratory vibe - Sunday pancake pre-birthday brunch 🎉 Life’s ebb and flow , expansion and contraction)

Life celebration to honour our dear friend Ann ✨
We love you and we miss you💚
We came together to eat and sing and create beauty! Because you created beauty and saw beauty everywhere ✨
And as it is with mandalas - we swept it away as a ritual, as a reminder of impermanence and t life’s preciousness.

Spring works in the garden took so much of my attention that I forgot to promote my Somatic Strength series that I’m equally passionate about 😀

WE START ON MONDAY WITH SOMATIC FLOW AND WEDNESDAY WITH YIN🍀✨

What is functional strength?
Functional strength is about building the kind of strength that supports how you move through daily life - lifting, twisting, reaching, stabilizing - not just how you perform in a workout.

In the FLOW sessions, we approach strength not as something to push for, but something we cultivate with attention, breath, and alignment. Movements are slow, precise, and connected to somatic awareness which means you’re not just going through the motions, but tuning in to how the body moves and responds. Through this lens, strength becomes more than muscular - it becomes coordinated, responsive, and intelligent.

You learn how to move from your center, distribute effort efficiently, and build resilience in a way that feels supportive, not depleting.

This kind of strength carries over into your everyday movements, helping you feel more grounded, capable, and at home in your body.

This series is about how you move and how you listen to your body. The  practices aim to support your everyday life

The strength I’m talking about is not about pushing or forcing, but about building strength with awareness. It about learning how to feel nuance, to build strength from inside out and essentially to have more agency, control and choice.

Each week we focus on a different area:

Week 1 (May 11 / May 13): Knees & ankles — foundations for healthy hips and lower back

Week 2 (May 18 / May 20): Exploring the hips in 360°

Week 3 (May 25 / May 27): Psoas & nervous system

Week 4 (June 1 / June 3): The spine - balancing mobility and stability

Week 5 (June 8 / June 10): Strengthening the shoulders to release tension

FLOW on Mondays = strength + mobility + somatics
YIN on Wednesdays = slower, deeper, more listening

Together the session aim to build steadiness, range & resilience.

Livestream and recordings until September.
We start on Monday🍀

SOMATIC STRENGTH & MOBILITY
5-week series in May and June
FLOW & YIN
choose one or both

Last series before summer break!

🍀 MONDAYS 6pm (CET), starts May 11
The cornerstone of the FLOW sessions is to strengthen the body from inside out - integrating somatic awareness with functional strength and mobility training to build what I love to call “fluid” strength.

🍀 WEDNESDAYS 7pm (CET), starts May 13
The YIN sessions combine somatics with yin poses and aim to further refine the way we pay attention and meet what arises from moment to moment.

🍀🍀Combined together the FLOW & YIN sessions offer a practice ground to cultivate steadiness, range and resilience in body and mind - offering practical tools to move, feel, and respond with more clarity and ease in everyday life.

Join full series, choose Flow or Yin!
All recordings available until September.
