🐢 A Turtle’s Shell Isn’t Just a Shell

It may look like armor, but a turtle’s shell is actually a living part of its body.

The "carapace" is connected to the ribs and backbone, and the shell contains "nerves and blood vessels" meaning turtles can feel through it. 🤯

✨ It’s not just protection. It’s living, sensitive anatomy.

Green sea turtle hatchlings face incredibly tough odds, with only a tiny fraction surviving to adulthood. That’s why protecting turtles and their ocean home matters so much. 🌊💚

Green sea turtles are still endangered. Statistics say only one in thousand survives.

Marine iguanas are the only lizards on Earth that have adapted to feed in the ocean. Watching them graze underwater is a reminder of what makes Galápagos so extraordinary: evolution in motion, life perfectly shaped by the sea, and species found nowhere else on the planet.
