"Whatever you choose, do it with passion and heart. No one can stop you, only you between you. Keep going and be happy!"
Some people want big muscle, some want to be stronger, or be able to do skills statics or dynamics. These slides will make your view of Calisthenics clearer.
The Four Elements in Calisthenics
1- Strength
2- Endurance
3- Static skills
4- Dynamic skills
1) Strength:
This is also known as Weighted Calisthenics and this is the first thing you need to build since you start your Calisthenics journey, Strength. This element commonly falls into fundamentals exercises like Pull up, Dips, Squats, or even Muscle-up. Basically, you will add an extra weight once the bodyweight reps are not challenging anymore.
2) Endurance:
Some people mistakenly understand this element is more to cardio work like running or swimming but it falls to fundamentals exercises with high reps.
Example of set:
1-Muscle up*6
2- Dips*60
3- Pull up*60
4-Push up*60
5- Muscle-up*6
- must be done in under 6 mins
3) Static skills:
This is the element everyone should learn and achieve along the journey as this could be the measurement of your Relative Strength 'RS' level. Once your RS level is increased, you will be able to perform harder skills. This will make the journey more fun and interesting. It is a never-ending journey as there're always be harder and harder variations of skills.
Example skills: These are the common Statics Skills: 1/Crow Pose _Frog stand, 2/Handstands. 3/Elbow Lever. 4/Bach Lever.5/Fragonfly.6/Human Flag.
4) Dynamics Skills:
This element is fun because it feels like we're back to our childhood as we love to play with hanging, jumps, and fly. This element needs a lot of explosiveness and usually, you can build it from endurance work. Not to mention you need a lot of guts as the percentage of injury from falling from the bar is high and that's also why it's popular amongst youngsters.
Example skills: These are common Dynamics Skills: 1/Jump Over the Bar. 2/Muscle up 360. 3/Swing 360 and a lot more
