Discover the best shallow reefs around Las Terrenas and spend the day exploring one of the most beautiful bays on the Samaná Peninsula.
Jackson Bay combines healthy coral reefs, abundant tropical marine life, excellent snorkeling, and a secluded beach accessible only by boat. It is the perfect destination for families, mixed groups of divers and snorkelers, and anyone looking to enjoy a relaxed day on the water.
The adventure begins with a scenic cruise along the coastline before arriving at Jackson Bay. Depending on conditions, we'll choose from several beautiful reef sites where guests can snorkel, complete one dive, or enjoy two dives.
The shallow reefs make Jackson an excellent location for Discover Scuba Diving while also allowing certified divers to enjoy long, relaxed dives with plenty of bottom time. Expect healthy coral formations, sea fans, colorful reef fish, and, if you're lucky, one of the area's resident sea turtles.
Between reef visits, we'll stop at a secluded beach where you can swim, relax under the palms, explore the shoreline, snorkel from the beach, or simply enjoy tropical fruits and refreshments in a spectacular natural setting.
Whether you're snorkeling for the first time or you're an experienced diver, Jackson offers the classic Caribbean experience that makes for a perfect day out.

Not every dive is about coral reefs and tropical fish.
Explore the maze of canyons, caverns, swim-throughs and hidden passages that make Ballenas Islands one of the most unique dive sites on the Samaná Peninsula.

Carved by the sea over thousands of years, these underwater formations create a true adventure dive unlike anything else in the area.
Beyond the dramatic topography, Ballenas is home to abundant marine life including schools of tropical fish, giant crabs, lobsters and green moray eels hidden throughout the reef.

Conditions can vary depending on the sea state, making every dive slightly different and adding to the sense of exploration that makes Ballenas so special.
Certified divers can explore the site's caverns, canyons and swim-throughs, while easier routes are available for Discover Scuba participants accompanied by one of our instructors.
