Basic Cave Diving Safety Guidelines

1. **Training**: Always be properly trained in cave diving and adhere strictly to the limits of your certification.

2. **Guideline Protocol**: Always maintain a continuous guideline back to the exit.

3. **Lights**: Always carry three light sources: one primary and two backups.

4. **No Deep Diving on Air**: No deep cave diving on air.

5. **Gas Management**: Always follow the rule of thirds for gas planning: use one-third of your gas going in, one-third for the return, and always keep one-third in reserve for emergencies.
