Thank you all for your patience and support while we have been undergoing a change of ownership. As you may or may not have known, Kayla and Rich have decided to sell Salt Dive.
I wanted to introduce ourselves, the new owners, to all of you. My name is Elizabeth, I also go by Liz and my partner is Omaya.
I am from Canada, Toronto area. Omaya is from Dominica. I came to Dominica in January of 2020 and have been here since. Next time you're on island, I'm happy to give the extended story but to keep things to the point I'll leave it there. Prior to Dominica I was an avid traveler and have always loved the water. Omaya grew up working on boats doing whale watching, diving, swimming with s***m whales, etc. Omaya is our licensed ship captain.
Kayla and Rich are friends of ours and we hope to have the Salt Dive legacy live on. The new name is Seaside Scuba.
Although the name and ownership have changed we do hope to keep the conservation and culture Salt Dive was known for by continuing to do beach clean ups, swimming lessons for locals, and local immersion events. I would love your feedback and suggestions of what you would love to see happen or experience the next time your visiting Dominica.
We’re happy to welcome on board our dive professionals — Anna & Gaspar — who will guide, teach, and train you through unforgettable underwater adventures.
Gaspar’s connection with the ocean began early — at just six years old, spearfishing alongside his grandmother in the Mediterranean Sea. It was only natural that years later he followed that passion to Australia, where he completed his professional training and became a SSI Dive Master Instructor.
Anna’s story has always been deeply tied to water as well. A former professional swimmer and lifeguard, she later dedicated herself to marine conservation projects in Mexico, including marine turtle protection and coral restoration. Her journey eventually brought her to the Dominican Republic, where she continued developing her diving career and became a SSI Dive Master.
Together, they combine experience, adventure, and a genuine passion for the underwater world. Speaking English, French, Spanish, and Polish, they love connecting with people from all around the world and sharing the magic of the ocean in a safe, welcoming, and inspiring way.
Now, alongside scuba diving, they are also expanding into the exciting world of freediving — offering a new way to experience freedom, connection, and silence beneath the surface.
