You chose one of the hardest sports in the world: explosive, asymmetrical, relentless. Squash only exposes what you haven’t prepared.
You don’t play squash to get fit — you train to be able to play squash. If you skip strength work, mobility, and joint preparation, the game will take its toll. The lunges, rotations, decelerations, and repeated impacts demand a body that’s strong, balanced, and resilient.
Strength training isn’t optional. It’s how you protect knees, hips, backs, and ankles. It’s how the body moves efficiently, absorbs force, and produces power safely.
Do the work away from the court, and squash rewards you.
Ignore it, and the sport will eventually break you down.
Train to play. Don’t play to train.
