I THOR selfprotection vil fokus være på at undgå, at lære og se signalerne og "red flags" før ting udvikler sig. Dernæst handler det om at kende og styre sit eget ego og kunne stå i konflikter. Sessions videofilmes således at den enkelte kan se sig selv agere for derefter at kunne justere på sit udtryk. De fysiske værktøjer er ganske få, men testet under ekstrem stress. Fokus er ikke på de enkelte

værktøjer, men på taktik og dialog. Dernæst på en fysisk respons der er høj eksplosiv for at kunne skabe det "vindue" der skal til for at kunne komme sikkert hjem. Til træningen replikeres virkeligheden så godt som det nu er muligt, der vil være realistisk rollespil med aggression flere modstandere og våben. Der afholdes ugentlig træning af 1,5 time, onsdage fra 19.00-20.30. En gang om måneden afholdes en workshop på 3 timer. Alt instruktion udføres af Niels Thorald Rasmussen. Skriv på [email protected] såfremt du ønsker en prøvetime eller ønsker at deltage i introtræningen når de afholdes.(typisk tre-fire gange om året.) Idet træningen kan være intens og med en del planlægning/opbygning ønsker vi ikke at være et stort hold. Vi er således typisk ikke mere end 10 til træningen.

Testing!
We have that “luxury” not to be a part of any school or system. Our physical toolbox is small and often controlled for its efficiency.

Yesterday it was the “grab and stab🔪”.

In some time we have watched and found some of their principles interesting!
Never trained with these cool guys and girls, but we took a deeper look into some of their principles and took a test run with a non-compliant assailant. As always nothing works 100 % of the time here. The variables are making it difficult to choose one good approach here.

We did get good information out of this session, details will be shared with a video later.

Good to be back in the gym👍

Theme for the day? Everything!💪

First hour was a quick walk through and speed training of our curriculum(not all but close)
From avoiding, stance, fence, de escalation, spotting a predatory threat, handling an ego based conflict, use of low force, pre-emption, multiples, baseball bats, bottles, knifes, hold up.

Then 30 min of scenarios, all linked up to each participants personal life/jobs.
Some with action and some scenarios that could be de escalated.

How is this even possible!🧐

Because these guys rock🤟
And have been training this for years in our group.
Really good effort from all!👏

Nothing is more important in violence prevention than awareness - about your self, behavioral, environmental and situational.

Ad conflict communication skills to this, and you have our first two and most important columns in our teaching curriculum.

This knowledge and skills alone will probably keep you out of 99% of any confrontations.

Use of force must be the last solution.
In this session we worked on change in mindset and use of force with focus on stricking/kicking tools.

Mindset is the root and base of our actions.
If there is a change in the right moment, then the physical tool or “technique” isn’t that important. From that point in time, it must be a one sided dynamic.

It’s intimidating for most just to be in a confined space with a padded assailant.🤯 Ad to this the the unknown factor of the scenario, and that you must engage with force to get “out”. Adrenaline will be present, it’s a totally different experience than hitting pads and following a script like a zombie🧟

This training is not for all, and definitely not necessary for all. But it expands your tolerance for being in and dealing with an unpleasant situation.
(it’s also fun training, when done in a safe environment😅)

We don’t often train pre-emption in scenarios(to easy for the usual suspects 😉) but in these scenarios the role player acted either highly aggressive or already with a plan to engage(predatory threat). Threat level is high, there is no escape.(staircase, elevator, small room)

All did good!💪 first with de-escalation and then pre-emption with their own solutions/tools to solve the problem. Here use of: environment/walls, attachment, opportunity striking, high/low attacks.

Most important we saw a clear shift in mindset.

We train harder, and softer than most.

We don’t pay lip service, we actually teach and train the very important softskils.
And we train them “hard”, because it is actually much harder to train the soft skills “hard” than the hard skills “hard”.

Now we probably lost a lot of readers, but some might get it😉

When dialogue is under pressure, we tend to fall back to commands, giving orders and critiques of the other part. It’s human, it’s in our ego and it’s a practice thing.
This is one of the parts we train and evaluate over.
Likewise body language is extremely important. Being synchronized verbal and nonverbal is a precondition for de-escalation and can likewise be practiced.

The testing ground is scenarios.
This session was with focus on the dialogue. If there is a need to go physical, it is shown with a hand to the face, no more.
Good scenarios requires good active roleplay with emotions from the participants, and prober evaluation afterwards.
It is not everyone that can do this, and we have and eye on every participant, making sure not to touch upon there known triggers.

Most wont get the lingo in this clip, and you don’t have to, it is right there in the energy if you pay attention.

We ran some cool scenarios today.
Focus was alone on the initial contact and conflict communication.

Far more important, in a self defense perspective, than the physical in-fight skills.

All scenarios are run two times, with minor changes that often changes the outcome 100 %

The guys did good, excellent active roleplay!💪

KNIVOVERFALD
Overfald med kniv/våben udgør ca. 8 % af de registrerede voldstilfælde i Danmark.

Ingen træning, ingen principper eller teknikker vil fungere 100 %, ved et dedikeret angreb.
Det vigtigste er at agere tidligt, at spotte et potientielt våben for derved om muligt helt at undgå situationen.

Det starter med en selv og egne relationer. Størstedelen af knivangreb sker i kendte relationer eller arbejdssituationer og ikke af den fremmede på gaden. Identifikation af “red flags” i egne relationer er her afgørende.

Denne session omhandlede principper for håndtering af et knivangreb i et “worst case scenario.”
Det er ikke muligt at flygte fra situationen, nedskallering virker ikke, der er intet skjold/improviseret våben til rådighed.

I scenarietræninger opstår der et helt andet spændingsfelt end, hvis det blot er en øvelse i træningssalen. Her tilføres et aktivt rollespil, følelser i form af vrede, frustration og aggression.

De fysiske principper trænes under gradvist stigende modtryk, herefter te**es principperne i en aktiv dialog, med kropssprog, situationskontrol og magtanvendelse såfremt dette er sidste udvej.

D. 17. September afholdes en 4 timers workshop: Selvforsvar ved knivangreb.
workshoppen vil blive målrettet fagpersoner der arbejder f.eks i socialpsykiatrien dag- og døgnbehandling, plejepersonale, sygeplejersker, læger, socialpædagoger, fængselspersonale, sosu-assistenter m.m.

Der vil være fokus på information og teori, verbal og nonverbal kommunikation, konfliktnedtrapning, samt mere fysiske principper og scenarier.

Instruktionen er traumeorienteret og afstemt den enkelte deltagers kapacitet.
Vi udbyder små hold, maks. 15 deltagere.
