Gram Kajak manufactures Greenland Paddles in carbon, and paddle gear with a smart twist.

Gram Kajak ( kayak) is a small Danish manufacturer of Greenland Paddles. I make laminatet paddles in Western Red/Alaskan Yellow Cedar wood, as well as paddles in carbon. The paddes can all be delivered in one, two and ( for the carbon version) three part versions. The wooden paddles can be made to your meet your own design, although most rowers are comfortable with my standard version, which has been fine tuned over many years.

Why are Greenland paddles so good for rolling? 🌊

A traditional wooden Greenland paddle, when made from the right type of wood, has plenty of natural buoyancy to support you through the roll.

Carbon paddles can work just as well. Gram Kajak paddles are built with a construction that contains a lot of air inside the paddle, giving them buoyancy in the water and making them well suited for rolling.

Different materials. The same principle: let the paddle help you back to the surface.

The throwing stick, or Norsaq, has a long history in Greenland 🇬🇱

Traditionally, it was used by Inuit hunters to increase the power and accuracy of a harpoon when hunting seals and other marine mammals.

Today, the Norsaq has found a new purpose. In Greenland kayaking, it's commonly used as a training aid for rolling techniques, adding an extra challenge while preserving a connection to its historic roots.

Lysefjorden stretches 42 km through the Norwegian landscape 🇳🇴

At its deepest, the fjord reaches 456 metres, surrounded by mountains rising more than 1,000 metres above sea level.

Home to iconic landmarks like Preikestolen and Kjerag, the fjord was carved by glaciers during the Ice Age.
