🧐NON SPECIFIC PAIN🤔
So I’m seeing the likes of -strength and a few other ignorant fools shaming and embarrassing other physios for using the diagnosis of non specific pain!

This is pathetic!

A diagnosis of non specific pain is more about being honest and humble as well as being aware of the uncertainty in both research and clinical practice!

It’s not being lazy or unskilled

The most skilled and effective clinicians I know are comfortable with the diagnosis of non specific low back pain

For now. Its correct. It might change in the future… but I doubt it!

However that being said the term ‘non specific’ can be misunderstood and feel invalidating by many patients as pain is very specific to the person suffering it

All it means is there is little ability to say with any certainty what single structural source is the cause of their symptoms

It also reflects that we don’t have any specific treatments for many specific diagnosis of pain

So please don’t let an arrogant social media guru tell you otherwise!
