The last night I went out to check a few times, but I was getting a bit tired after coming home very late the previous two nights.
So I decided to go to bed and if I woke up, I would go out again.
I woke up at 3 am, much more refreshed, so I just wanted to look around
I got my stuff together and pulled my bike out through the driveway. From here I could see something big over to the right on the corn stubble
It was quiet, so I thought I’d better get away from the edge of the forest, so I could make sure I got out of the way, towards the hill.
When I cycled out onto the gravel road, it crunched badly.
It had to break or hold. When I got to the end of the field, I stopped, took out the spotter and looked for the pig.
It had run into the forest, and was covered in a lot of willow.
But out to the left, there was something even better, namely a big pig, out in the open, down on the grass field.
The decision was easy, I wanted to take a chance on the one that was in free area.
So I moved on in the quiet night.
There was no wind and no fog either, so I didn’t dare to get too close.
I couldn’t get the laser rangefinder to work, so it was according to the size in the spotter, that I stopped and put the Sako on the Viper-Flex.
The pig was digging in the turf after roots and worms, so I waited for it to stand up straight.
Yes, I could hold the rifle still, so I got ready, lined up and released the bullet.
There was an instant reaction, the boar dropped in the shot for a high shoulder shot.
I counted 151 big steps over to him, it was a young male boar, but without much tusks.
But he was though heavy enough when he had to be loaded.
