Weapons Combat Systems

Weapons Combat Systems A weaponry-based martial art consisting of three branches: Weapons Combat Escrima, Historical Weapons Combat and Wing Tsun Weapons.

Weapons Combat Systems (WCS) is a weaponry-based martial art consisting of three branches:
- Weapons Combat Escrima
- Historical Weapons Combat
- Wing Tsun Weapons. Weapons Combat Systems emphasizes simplicity and directness in combat. Both weapon situations and unarmed possibilities against an armed or unarmed assailant are taught and trained. Unarmed combat is trained as well. Instead of being b

ound to a particular weapon, the practitioner learns to use almost anything as a weapon. Headquarters:

Weapons Combat Systems Sommercamp 2026

This weekend we had a very successful Weapons Combat Systems Sommercamp in Lund, Sweden – with intensive training both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday kicked off with GM Lars taking the participants through the foundational concepts and ideas behind the system – tracing the origins from the two-handed sword all the way to today’s interpretation of armed combat. The five concepts of WCS were explored through a variety of weapons, building a deeper understanding of the underlying principles.

Master Erik supported by Head Instructor Per, then guided the group through the details of the syllabus with precision and depth.

Sunday we shifted focus to longer weapons, Bart Cham Dao and other specialized areas – pushing technical skills and deepening our understanding of how the WCS principles apply across different weapons.

The level of dedication and intensity from every participant both days was truly impressive. Training together across organizations and schools is what builds real community – and this camp delivered exactly that.

We had participants from Lund, Malmø, Gothenburg, Copenhagen and Haderslev.

The camp also included gradings.

And the following passed their grades:
Jim Joelsson - 1.+2. Student level
Rigo Juul - 2. Student level
Mikkel Jensen - 2. Student level
Marcus Nordlund - 8. Student level
Michael Høtoft - 11. Student level

We also had some high grades:
Harry Persson - 1. Technician
Kalle Persson - 1. Technician
John Persson - 1. Technician
Sune Klink Madsbøll - 1. Technician

A big congratulations to all of you 👏👏👏
The dedication and effort you all put into this was truly something special.

A huge thank you to all instructors and every participant who made the journey to Lund.

We’ll see you at the next one 😊👍

This weekend Ving Tsun/DVTF - Weapons Combat Systems Haderslev
had the pleasure of hosting GM Lars Lind.

The theme of the seminar was understanding and cohesion within the system’s concepts and principles – with a special focus on the key elements that set Weapons Combat Systems apart from other weapon systems.

GM Lars guided the participants on an inspiring journey through the system’s foundation, rooted in edged weapons. A central principle explored in depth was the idea of always attacking the incoming attack – taking initiative in every situation.

We worked with sticks, machetes, two-handed swords, knives, palm sticks, staffs, and unarmed combat – all to build a deeper understanding of the concepts through application across different weapons and contexts.

There was also a strong focus on the importance of angles and positioning, as well as how to generate power through our stance and body mechanics. Small adjustments with a big impact.

Thanks to all participants for their engagement – and a big thank you to GM Lars for another insightful and inspiring seminar.

This year marks GM Lars’ 50-year anniversary. In recognition of this milestone - and especially his more than 25 years of continuous support, guidance and dedication to the Haderslev team— he was presented with a gift from our club

Weapons Combat Systems Seminar at Ving Tsun Aarhus – Focus on Cutting Weapons

Today’s seminar picked up right where we left off last time, building on our work with the stick and its angles, lines, and power mechanics. The following transitioning into cutting weapons opened up a whole new layer of timing, structure and tactical thinking.

We explored a series of drills designed to sharpen the participants’ understanding of how a cutting weapon changes the flow of a confrontation.

⚔️ Cut‑Line Recognition Drills
We trained reading and responding to different cutting angles. The emphasis was on understanding how even subtle shifts in the line create new tactical possibilities.

⚔️ Entry & Interception Flow
A fluid drill where participants practiced interrupting the opponent’s movement and creating openings. This gave a strong sense of how timing and positioning can be used proactively.

⚔️ Progressive Intent Drills
Here, tempo and pressure were gradually increased to challenge decision‑making and adaptability. The drill highlighted how focus and structure influence the options available in a dynamic exchange.

The atmosphere was intense, the learning curve steep and the energy from the group outstanding. It’s inspiring to see how everyone continues to develop both technical insight and tactical creativity during the session.

We had participants from both VT Herning and VT Aarhus.

Thanks for a powerful day and your support on this event — we keep building from here.

We are already planning af follow up event in autumn. Stay tuned 👍👍👍

Dagens krigere hos Weapons Combat Systems gruppen i Rødovre.

WEAPONS COMBAT ESCRIMA

Yesterday’s grading seminar in Lund was followed up today with a focused private session between Per Arvastson and Chief Instructor Rolf Warming.

The morning was spent going systematically through much of the training syllabus and structural content of the system, analysing progression, technical layers, tactical principles, and pedagogical frameworks.

This work forms part of Per’s transition from 4th Technician toward Master Level (5 ML).

At this level, it is no longer enough to demonstrate technical proficiency! The candidate must show complete structural understanding of the system, the ability to teach all grades with clarity and depth, and, crucially, contribute to the continued development of Weapons Combat Escrima.

Mastery requires innovation, critical thinking and refinement of pedagogy.

The journey from advanced technician to master is not about accumulating techniques - it is about understanding the architecture of the system and helping shape its future.

Strong work. The process continues..
