Little League Denmark West Practices with National Team Coaches
Sunday 11 January 2026 In anticipation of the upcoming Little League baseball season in Denmark, Danish National Team Coaches Carlos Perez (Copenhagen) and Omar Gamara (Odense) were invited to Aarhus, the largest town in the Danish mainland, called Jutland.
20 players aged 8-14 yo from Aarhus, Herning, Odense and Aalborg plus 7 coaches made for a great indoor practice. Danish Baseball Federation president, Rod Moore, said of the event: “We have collected a great group of baseball kids and coaches from all over Denmark to try to launch a Little League West regional division for games to be played between Aarhus, Herning and Odense in 2026. The strategy is that intense regional involvement will promote new teams in an underdeveloped region.” The 3 teams will also compete in interregional game days with clubs in the region of the capital city Copenhagen, which will have 4 teams in 2026.

Little League Baseball Expands Successfully into Western Denmark in 2025
With support from WBSC Europe and the Danish Baseball Federation’s Junior Coaches’ Network, Denmark has successfully established its first fully sanctioned Little League program. What began in late 2024 with just six junior players in Aarhus grew into a competitive DK West Little League team of over 25 players from the cities of Aarhus, Odense, and Herning by the end of September 2025. Suddenly, the trickle of kids just “trying” baseball, but leaving after a month or two, stuck around to enjoy great coaching and looked forward to playing games with other Danish teams.
DK West Coaches networked with elite baseball coaches of the newly formed Danish National Baseball Program (DNBP) — led by Jay Cannon, Omar Gamarra, and Carlos Perez, bolstering skills and competence. DNBP coach Carlos Perez developed a 12-game schedule for four teams. The other 3 teams were from the Copenhagen region, as shown in the Danish Little League city map.

The 2025 season saw home games hosted in both Odense and Aarhus, engaging families and communities while igniting new local interest in youth baseball. Encouraged by this success, plans are underway to expand the number of Little League teams in both the west and east in 2026, positioning the Danish Little League well to nurture the next generation of Danish baseball players.

Successful End to Denmarks First-Ever Baseball Little League Season
27 Sept 2025 The first-ever Danish baseball Little League ended in sun-drenched jubilation in Copenhagen Baseball Club’s Valby stadium. In a country where the weather often halts sports events, the baseball gods were with us this year. DK Vest started the day with 3 stellar innings of shutout baseball by their 8-yo pitcher. With the pitching change in the 4th, Copenhagen Tuff Nuts rallied to end the game in a tie. In the second game the Tuff Nuts dominated, propelled by a grand slam home run. More importantly, the game stood as a symbol of success for Danish organizers, as aided by support from the World Baseball Softball Confederation Europe in their initial sanctioned Little League season. Little League International’s (Cooperstown, USA) motto of “character building” in the face of adversity, “learning courage” in facing new challenges and “loyalty for teammates” were definitely evident on the field at Valby today.

Denmark Wins Nordic U15 Baseball Championship Again In Its 2nd Year
Odense, Denmark – September 21, 2025 – For the second year in a row, Denmark earned the title of Nordic U15 Baseball Champions, this time on home soil at the Odense Wolves Baseball Field.
The U15 Nordic Baseball Championship 2025, brought together national teams from Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark. Over two days, the Danish team came back from losing their first game to Norway to win one against Sweden and one against Finland in the final game. This is the first time Denmark has hosted the tournament. “Winning the Nordic Cup at home in front of our fans is a historic moment for Danish baseball.”, said Omar Gamarra, Assistant Coach of the Danish U15 National Team. “These young players represent the future of baseball in Denmark, and their victory shows how much the sport is growing here.”
The tournament not only highlighted strong performances by the Danish players but also the competitiveness and rising baseball talent across the whole Nordic region.
The Danish Baseball National Program (DNBP) and Odense Wolves Baseball Club, with support from local and national partners, made the event possible by organizing the games, upgrading facilities, and welcoming international guests.
With back-to-back championships, Denmark’s U15 National Team appears to have established itself as the team to beat in Nordic baseball. The DNBP and Danish Baseball Federation have plans for the continued development of young players and optimism that future Danish teams will also be competitive in other European tournaments.

CBC Urban Achievers Dominate in Denmarks Baseball Cup Finals

Valby, Copenhagen – 20 September 2025 In the final weeks of the Danish senior baseball season, Copenhagen Baseball’s Urban Achievers had to wait patiently to find out who they would play and when. On September 13th, the Århus Aros finally pulled ahead of the Odense Wolves to win the West and confirm that the finals would be played a week later. Since Odense Wolves were intensely preparing for the U15 Nordic Baseball Tournament, they were unable to compete with Malmö Pilots in a 3rd place matchup this year. So, the final day of the 2025 season landed on a sunny, summer-like day in Valby. The Copenhagen Baseball Club had been hungry for the postseason, after not playing last year and their fanbase turned out in big fashion. “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” was sung in the 7th inning stretch of the 9-inning final game.
The crowd had a lot to cheer about as the game was dominated by UA pitcher Zeno Riz a Porta, who was unhittable through most of the game in the 11-2 rout. Only after UA's relief pitching came in did the Aros muster some solid hits and runs. Doubles in the gaps, base stealing, and timely RBI hits were the order of the day for Achievers’ batters. UA coach Kevin Past received the trophy from President Rod Moore, and the party began at home plate with champagne.

13 Sept 2025 In the "City of Smiles" Lyngby Jokers vs DK Vest Little League baseball
Århus, called the City of Smiles, welcomed the Little League Lyngby Jokers from Sjælland to a mostly sunny baseball game day. The coaches meeting at home plate with umpires was all smiles and heartfelt handshakes/hugs, as the first-ever Little League season in Denmark is winding down. The day's games were uneven, as Jokers shut out DK Vest 9-0 in the first game, while Vest won decisively in Game 2 by 9-4. More importantly, both coaches’ benches report that they see solid development in both pitching and batting skills after the kids have gotten more game experience. DK Vest continues its remarkable growth in player numbers, with coach Chris Fouts having to juggle 23 players to get in some playing time! DK Vest parents showered their coaches with gifts in a ceremony after this, the last home game of the year. Some of the players from both teams will reconvene for the Danish national team next weekend in Odense for the second annual U-15 Nordic Baseball tournament, competing against Swedish, Finnish, and Norwegian teams. Look for media posts for that event 20-21st September.

First Ever Little League Intl Sanctioned Games in Århus, Denmark
16 August 2025 CBC Tuff Nuts vs DK Vest Little League Baseball
The Little League titans of eastern Denmark, the Tuff Nuts, took the ferry to Århus and, with smooth sailing both on and off the field, came home with victory smiles and suntanned faces! The largest crowd of spectators this year at Århus baseball field, witnessed a bone fidé Little League double-header for the first time in its 40-year history. Coaches Kevin Kroh from Copenhagen and Chris Fouts from Århus/DK Vest are both natives of Colorado in the USA. Their players played their hearts out as seen through the camera lenses! It was a great baseball day in Århus, Denmark's 2nd largest city, and there is a bright future for players in western Denmark to continue to compete with the numerous teams in the East.

Saturday 9 August 2025 - After two weeks of cloudy skies and rain, coaches for the Malmö Pilots and DK Vest Little League teams met under sunny blues skies in Malmö on a doubleheader! Both teams were trying out new players in their first Little League games, so there was tension before starting time 11.45 AM. New Malmö coach American James Welch and DK Vest coach American Chris Fouts had both of their two sons leading the teams with their American Little League experience, so the newcomers had good role models. If one views the game scores of 5-0 in Game 1 (DK Vest) and 7-1 in Game 2 (Malmö) one could surmise equality of the two teams and a lot of baserunning fun! There was even one home run hit (DK Vest) over the cones 200 feet away! Parent spectators for both teams were in abundance and enjoyed the rebirth of summer weather in the Øresund region. McDonalds in Malmö’s center was well visited and DK Vest even had an overnight campout after the games at Holbæk on the way back to the ferry! A most enjoyable summer baseball Saturday.
Addendum: Cph Tuff Nuts (orange and white) vs. Lyngby Jokers (Navy blue and white) pictures from 9 August in Lyngby are now attached.
