Well Haro, the capital of Le Rioja, what a treat! We managed to get a pitch for the night at €25 on the ACSI card. Then a ten minute walk from there to many bodegas! We visited just the five, yes FIVE, a little tasting in each. Then today, after leaving the campsite, we popped back to a couple to make some wine purchases. We then drove out further into Rioja country up to the Balcon de Rioja viewpoint.

A touring day today. We woke in Las Arenas to low cloud and a welcome chill in the air. Our first stop was for El Capricho, a lovely house designed by . Then on to Santillana del Mer once described by Sartre as the most beautiful town in Spain. And it was lovely, a very different feel to other pueblos. Then we headed down south towards Rioja country. Staying in Frias which is a gorgeous medieval town on a hillock.

We had to stop at a when we stumble upon one! And this one did not disappoint! A camper was exiting the full car park as we approached- bonus! Then a steepish walk down and 241 windy steps up to ! As it was still low season we didn’t have to book a time slot. But it was busy enough for us today! Quite a few coaches with loads of kids. Took just over an hour in total with plenty of time for taking in the views at the top.

Oops…..a little brake issue (muy importante!!). Sorted out efficiently by Front brakes started making a lovely grinding sound once we got into Spain. But of course it was the weekend. So had to drive cautiously until we could get to a garage. Anyway, back on the road now, no grinding or squeaks so all is good to go 👍🏼👍🏼

A relaxing day spent exploring San Sebastián today. Caught the free shuttle bus from our campsite (Camping Igara) down to the town. Then walked into the centre and of course we had to try some pintxos, we visited just three places! All were excellent! Later on we took the funicular up Mount Igueldo which has a great view overlooking the city. Then back to the campsite for a T-bone steak!

Made it into Livigno at 5am this morning to beat all of the restrictions. Felt a bit naughty coming in under darkness. Managed a few more hours sleep, then woke up to glorious sun ☀️. Today is getting out bearings, we’re less than a mile from the . Skiing ⛷️ tomorrow!! ‼️🇮🇹💙

Super cool experience having lunch 5m under the sea. Of course there was much seafood in our tasting menu!
