We are a club that loves all things water, and have a waterpolo, swimming and tri-sport departments. Our waterpolo department has existed since 1960, and has achieved many great things in its over 40 years of existence. In newer years, after almost closing in 2003, we can thank Tom Lauritzen for starting the department up again. From just 5 youth players to now over 60 active members, spanning fro

m 1. division men and ladies to the youngest ones joining our Polo-Play team to just have fun in the water, the club is blooming and more active than ever. Players of all ages train most days of the week in our home pool on Amager, getting ready for the many tournaments and training for the national team. Our adult teams have great success in the National Championships, with both teams currently holding the title as Champions after a great 2022 championship. The women have a joint team with KVIK-Slagelse, as we love to further our currently quite small sport and make playing possible for everyone who wants to do so. Both teams also participate in international competitions, which always are a fun trip. We always have room for new players, so shoot us a message if you are interested !!!

From left to right Luka (16), William (18) and Chris (16). Our three young guns that helped take us to the final of the Nordic Championship last week. Playing valiantly against much more experienced, not to mention larger, opponents.

It’s worth reflecting on the dedication these young men have for a sport that is quite small in Denmark (for now anyway)… both William and Chris are in the Danish national teams for their age groups and Luka shows great promise, making the effort from Malmo to join our team every week. All have natural ability that makes the future of Waterpolo exciting for us, and Denmark!

We’re on our way back to Copenhagen. While we’re not carrying the winning cup, second is a huge effort from a young team in one of our first championships together. Everyone is studying or working and the dedication is something to be really proud of. That goes for all the teams competing in Water Polo in Scandinavia.

With quality tournaments like this hosted by we hope to see the next generation enjoying such a challenging sport.

Congrats to everyone involved and for being on another level.

De næste to uger er KVIK vandpolo ude og træne vandpolo med næsten alle yngre svømmehold i KVIK.

Idéen er at kunne tilbyde de unge, der måske er kørt lidt trætte i svømning, en anden form for at røre sig i vand og lære at svømme.

Tusind tak til for at lade os komme forbi, og tak til alle de søde trænere, der møder os.

Vi håber meget, at det bliver en fast ting i fremtiden.
