🇩🇰FLYVER MARCH 2027 – FIRST OF MANY Q&A FOR ALL OUR INTERNATIONAL COLLEAGUES 🇩🇰
Dear international colleagues, friends and fellow marchers,
We are already looking forward to Flyver March 2027 and to welcoming participants from Denmark and many other countries.
Every year, we receive a lot of questions from our international colleagues — and that is exactly how it should be. We want everyone to know what Flyver March is, what is expected from a Point of Contact (POC), and how you can make the experience as smooth as possible for your participants.
So, here is a small but comprehensive Q&A covering some of the most frequently asked questions.
And remember:
Flyver March is not just an event. It is a military march built on tradition, comradeship, determination and the willingness to challenge yourself together with others.
Q: Can you run Flyver March?
A: No.
Flyver March is a march.
You walk a march.
You run a race.
We know that some of you are extremely motivated, physically fit and may feel that walking 20 kilometres is simply too slow. 😄
But Flyver March is a military march — and therefore, you walk it.
Of course, there may be a few people who suddenly discover that they have a very strong urge to walk very quickly. We understand. 😉
Q: How many participants do I need to register as a POC in 2027?
A: A minimum of 20 participants.
If you want to establish a group and become the Point of Contact (POC) for your unit, organisation or country, you must have at least 20 participants.
This is important because the POC is not simply the person who signs up the group.
The POC becomes the link between Flyver March and the participating group.
So make sure you have your people ready before you register your group.
Minimum: 20 participants.
Q: Does registration close on 1 July 2027?
A: YES!
The entire registration system will close on 1 July 2027.
After this date, it will not be possible to register additional participants.
There will be no:
“Just one more…”
“He forgot to register…”
“Can you make an exception?”
“We only have five more people…”
Once registration closes, registration is closed.
So please make sure that your participants are registered before 1 July 2027.
We strongly recommend that POCs do not wait until the final days.
Q: What does it mean to be a POC?
A: Being a POC means being our eyes, ears and helping hand on the ground.
The POC plays an important role in making sure that the participating group is properly prepared and that communication between Flyver March and the participants works.
As POC, you are responsible for helping to coordinate matters such as:
📦 Ordering participant packages
🚻 Toilet facilities
💧 Water and hydration
🩹 First-aid possibilities
📋 Participant lists
💰 Payment
🎖️ Distribution of diplomas
📢 Communication with your participants
🤝 Coordination with Flyver March
📍 Being the local point of contact during the event
In other words:
We do not expect you to do everything yourself — but we do expect you to make sure that things are taken care of.
You are our connection to your participants.
If something changes, if there is a problem, or if your participants have questions, you are the person we need to be able to communicate with.
Q: Does being a POC require previous experience?
A: No.
You do not need to have been a POC before.
You do not need to be an experienced event organiser.
You do not need to know every answer.
What you do need is:
The courage to take responsibility.
The energy to make things happen.
And the willingness to help your fellow participants.
If you have those three things, you can become a POC.
And don't worry — you will not be alone.
The Flyver March organisation will be there to support you with information and guidance.
Q: Can anyone become a POC?
A: YES!
If you have the courage, energy and motivation, anyone can become a POC.
You might be:
🇩🇰 Danish
🇳🇴 Norwegian
🇸🇪 Swedish
🇫🇮 Finnish
🇩🇪 German
🇬🇧 British
🇺🇸 American
🇨🇦 Canadian
🇳🇱 Dutch
🇧🇪 Belgian
🇵🇱 Polish
🇪🇪 Estonian
🇱🇻 Latvian
🇱🇹 Lithuanian
🇫🇷 French
🇮🇹 Italian
🇪🇸 Spanish
…or from anywhere else.
Flyver March is for everyone who wants to take part in the military tradition and challenge.
Q: Do we have to march on a military base or military terrain?
A: YES — this is a military march.
Flyver March is designed to take place in a military environment and on military terrain.
It should therefore not be conducted on ordinary civilian roads.
There may be a few exceptions at individual bases or locations, depending on the local circumstances and permissions.
But as a general rule:
Military march → military installation, base or terrain.
This is an important part of what makes Flyver March what it is.
Q: Can civilians participate?
A: No — Flyver March is a military march.
Participation is for military personnel and other personnel who are entitled to access and participate within the military framework of the event.
However, this does not mean that you have to be an active-duty soldier.
For example, veterans and military civilian employees may participate, provided they have the required access to the relevant military base/area.
So if you are a veteran, cadet, military civilian employee or serving military member:
You are welcome.
Q: Is Flyver March the world's largest military march?
A: YES!
And there is only one reason why:
YOU! 🇩🇰🇬🇧🇺🇸🇩🇪🇳🇴🇸🇪🇫🇮🇳🇱🇵🇱🇪🇪🇱🇻🇱🇹🇨🇦🌍
Every year, thousands of participants from Denmark and abroad take part.
Every country, every unit, every squadron, every organisation and every individual participant helps make Flyver March something special.
It is not the organisation alone that makes Flyver March great.
It is the people who show up.
It is the colleagues who travel across borders.
It is the POCs who spend time organising their groups.
It is the young soldiers experiencing the march for the first time.
It is the friendships created along the route.
And it is the shared feeling of having completed something difficult together.
That is Flyver March.
Q: What is the most important thing to remember as a participant?
A: Come prepared — and bring the right attitude.
Flyver March is a challenge.
It will probably hurt a little.
You will get tired.
Your feet may complain.
You may question your life choices somewhere along the route. 😄
But that is also part of the experience.
You do not complete Flyver March because it is easy.
You complete it because you keep going.
And you do it together with your comrades.
Q: What is the most important thing to remember as a POC?
A: Take responsibility early.
Do not wait until the last minute.
Make sure your participants know:
When registration closes
What they need to prepare
Where and when they need to meet
What the practical arrangements are
Who to contact with questions
What you expect from them
What they can expect from Flyver March
A good POC makes the experience better for everyone.
Q: Why should my unit or organisation participate?
A: Because Flyver March is about more than distance.
It is about camaraderie, military tradition, cooperation and personal challenge.
It is an opportunity to meet colleagues from other units, services and nations.
You may arrive as a group of colleagues.
You will probably leave as something more:
a group that has accomplished something together.
ONE LAST THING…
Flyver March 2027 will only be as good as the people who participate and help make it happen.
So to all our international colleagues:
Bring your colleagues.
Bring your unit.
Bring your friends.
Become a POC.
Walk the distance.
Share the experience.
And become part of Flyver March.
We are looking forward to seeing you in 2027! 🇩🇰
See you at Flyver March 2027!
Walk together.
Finish together.
Remember it together.
