The “6 D’s of Disruption” are still highly relevant.
Years ago, banks and large corporations were hit by digitization and automation. Today, translation, marketing, consulting, education, and creative industries are going through the same transformation.
What is fascinating is that disruption often begins invisibly.
At first, AI tools seem limited.
Automation looks imperfect.
New workflows feel experimental.
Then suddenly:
prices change,
expectations change,
workflows change,
and entire professions reorganize themselves.
But there is also an overlooked opportunity.
Small businesses and freelancers now have access to tools that previously only existed inside large companies:
AI workflows, multilingual publishing, automation, SEO systems, CRM integration, content pipelines, and global communication.
The future advantage may not be “using AI.”
Everyone will use AI.
The advantage belongs to people who can:
combine expertise with automation,
guide clients through complexity,
communicate clearly,
build trust,
and adapt quickly.
Maybe the real skill of the future is not production.
It is navigation.
