Absolute Health by Christina Andersen

Absolute Health by Christina Andersen Helping women with health challenges by tracking down the root cause I called none of them bad. In 2011 we were expecting our first daughter Annabelle.

My name is Christina

I grew up in Denmark in a very loving home that was always filled with happiness, laughter and AMAZING food. ALL the signs and symptoms of what would later be called my health challenges were already there. Cracking skin on my feet, frequent infections, swollen bloated stomach and face at seemly random intervals. They were just the card I was dealt and I never really saw the

m as a bad hand. At 21 I decided to move to the Uk to improve my English, I got interested in management in relate and managed many large fashion stores. It’s an incredibly aggressive and cut throat industry, the stress of the pressure I was under and the hours I was expected to work bought on what again seemed like random unconnected symptoms. My period were particularly heavy and my bloating was now accompanied by gas and stomach pain. During this time I met my now husband Ed, he was into health and fitness not long after we met started a business helping people with injuries, fat loss, fitness etc. I DID NOT have a passion for fitness but I was always game for the after workout drinks. I had a good pregnancy. A seemingly unrelated clue that again was pointing a finger directly at what I needed to know to look, feel and perform my best. In the same year Ed and I also opened our own gym and health care business. During my pregnancies I developed an interested in nutrition and exercise for physique change. I started a facebook group called “Mums Get Fit” with the intent of sharing my journey and perhaps supporting and connecting with mums on a similar journey. This proved quite popular and the group grew to 3,000 mums. I decided to do a personal training qualification. I started to create simple programmes to help mums to create consistency and more freedom around their choices so that they could enjoy the process of losing some fat and getting a bit fitter and a bit more energy. In 2017 we made a dream move to Copenhagen to be near my mum, and nature and the sea and this time to set up our new vision for what absolute health might be. Through working with thousands of women I discovered THREE never talked about problems.

1. People struggle with consistency far more than knowing what to do.
2. Diets don’t work equally for each person.
3. Our health symptoms point across our lives point to where we need to look and to where we are going and we can feel better. I have studied neuroscience and functional health and now I help my clients to finally create freedom in their lives as I created it in my own.

I shared this in my MumsGetFit group and had such a great response, I wanted to share it here too and I’ll keep posting about the journey here as well.

Documenting it helps me and often helps others too.
We need more honesty around health, fat loss, and peri-menopause – so I’ll be sharing openly 🩷

One year ago, I opened our horse and riding therapy stable with just 5 horses.
Today we have 14, 4 amazing team members and we’re still growing every week.

But growth doesn’t happen by magic.
I’ve been here 7 days a week – even on my “days off,” because my girls are riding.

It’s been a year of hard work – growing the business, living it, breathing it.

And yes… I’ve gained 6 kg.
Not a huge deal, but I feel it.

It would be easy to say “peri-menopause”, but that’s not it.
It’s more coffee, less water.
Quick food choices like bread and cheese.
Almost no structured training.
And more disrupted sleep at times.

So now, I’m making changes.
I’m bringing back my daily training – even if it’s just my favourite 100 squats.
I’m drinking more water.
I’m planning proper meals again.
I’m choosing me – because I don’t want this to creep further and affect my energy or focus.

I started Mum’s Get Fit 10 years ago this month – 14/9/2015.
And in all these years, I’ve seen this truth hold strong:

Fat loss is simple – not always easy, but simple:

• Don’t starve yourself
• Eat more protein (a lot more)
• Drink more water
• Move every day
• Sleep better
• Do something just for you
• Enjoy the process

I’ll be sharing 3–4 honest updates a week.
Hope it gives you something real, helpful, and maybe even inspiring 💗

Feeling exhausted and struggling to get through the day?

You’re not alone.

Just this past week, I’ve had two new clients come to me with fatigue as one of their main concerns. In fact, low energy is one of the most common symptoms I see in my practice.

Fatigue can have many causes—anything from poor sleep to underlying thyroid issues. That’s why when I start working with a client, we always begin with the basics:

✅ Balancing blood sugar
💧 Staying hydrated
😴 Prioritising quality sleep
🚶‍♀️ Incorporating daily movement
🥘 Eating enough nourishing food

If these foundations are in place and fatigue persists, we dive deeper to uncover potential underlying issues—whether it’s hormonal imbalances from stress, thyroid dysfunction, or gut health concerns.

But for many people, simply focusing on these daily habits over time can make a huge difference in how they feel.

So, looking at the list above—which one do you need to prioritise?

And remember: just because fatigue is common doesn’t mean it’s normal.

You deserve to feel energised and vibrant every single day. ♥️

You can’t heal when your body and brain feel like they’re being chased by a lion.

When you’re stuck in survival mode, your body shifts its energy away from non-essential functions—including healing. In moments of stress, your body’s priority is immediate survival, not repairing a wound or digesting your last meal.

The energy that would normally go toward healing is instead used to prepare you for fight or flight. Your body and brain instinctively know that healing can wait until the danger has passed.

Of course, we’re not actually being chased by lions. But if our body and brain think we are, that’s all that matters.

When stress becomes constant, the body focuses only on getting through the day. Over time, this wears us down physically. But it doesn’t stop there—survival mode also puts emotional healing on hold.

Emotional healing and physical healing are deeply connected. When the stress response is always activated, it disrupts this balance, keeping the body and brain stuck in a cycle of hypervigilance and fear. In this state, true healing can’t happen.

Healing requires a different environment—one that feels safe, calm, and supportive.

That’s why, when working with clients who are stressed, hypervigilant, or stuck in sympathetic dominance, it’s important to consider their environment. Because you cannot heal in the same environment that made you sick.

Are you feeling tired all the time?

You’re not alone.

Fatigue is one of the top symptoms many people face.

From poor sleep to thyroid conditions, there can be several underlying causes.

Before diving deeping on why it can be worth looking at:

🩷how your blood sugar balance is
🩷do you struggle with dehydration
🩷how is your sleep
🩷how often do you move your body

and my absolute favourite question to ask:

🩷are you eating enough?

(FYI: I have not met anyone where this has been the case yet)

If these are on point, it’s worth looking into further causes.

There could be underlying factors such as stress hormone or s*x hormone imbalance, nervous system dysfunction, thyroid issues, or gut issues.

I think it is really important we don’t just accept “it’s just part of getting older.”

Because it is not you can feel amazing again!

So ask more questions!

You don’t have to settle for feeling tired all the time.

This is such a funny meme, but jokes like this are part of of the problem of normalising period issues like period pain.

It is important to remember that while period pain might be very common, it is not normal.

If your period and even ovulation cramps are disrupting your life, please know that is your body’s way of communicating to you there is an internal imbalance.

The human body is an incredible machine and a million times smarter than any human and it is possible to create the environment where healing naturally can occur so we can live a life without pain.

By doing that we can put down the Mac charger back on the floor and stop making jokes about women’s pain ♥️

The dreaded scales...

When I start seeing new clients we often take their measurements and I ask things like “how is your energy when you wake up in the morning?”

I then ask them not to use their scales (at least more than once a month) and I have even asked some to put them in the bin.

Most of the women I work with stand on their scales every day or at least once a week - on the day of weighing, the scales determine how they feel.

If they have lost they feel epic and nothing can get in their way, but if they have stayed the same or gained they feel sad and very often they end up eating food they don’t actually want because, “what is the point any way?”

Why are we giving this thing that is run by batteries so much control?

How does it know how much fat we have?

It doesn’t.

The scales weigh everything in our body so blood, water, bones, muscles, fat and our brain.

Muscles and our liver store energy from carbohydrates so it is ready for exercise. Each gram of energy has 3 grams of water with it.

This is how boxers lose over a stone in one day before a weigh in. Or how we can gain a stone in a few days of more food and alcohol.

The first weight we lose on a diet is often just water and carbs(glycogen) stored in muscle.

This is why we think we are doing really well for the first couple of weeks and then struggle there after.

The only measure that will ever work is measurements or your clothes - the scales are just too confusing. Confusion always leads to adjustment of action which most often leads to heading in the wrong direction.

At my heaviest after having Sophia I was a large a UK size 16 but I only weighed 2 kg more than I do now when I’m a size 10/12.

There are so many factors that play in like I said above for example all these women on this picture weight the same number.

If you want to track your progress I would always recommend that you keep a record of your energy levels, are your symptoms improving, how your clothes fit, your mental health and your measurements instead of weighing yourself 🙂

You can’t heal when your body/brain feels like it’s being chased by a lion.

When your body is in survival mode, it diverts its precious resources away from non-essential functions, including the healing process.

During stressful events your body/brains priority is immediate survival, not repairing a wound or digesting the food you ate.

Energy that would typically be allocated to healing is redirected towards preparing you for fight or flight

The body/brain has this amazing innate wisdom that knows healing can wait until the threat has passed.

Of course where we live we aren’t actually being chased by a lion but that doesn’t actually matter if our body/brain thinks we are.

When the body is in a constant state of stress, all it is focussing on is surviving the day which with time wears our physical body down.

But what also happens when the body is in survival mode, it also leaves emotional wellbeing on the backburner.

Emotional healing is directly connected to our physical healing, and the prolonged activation of the stress response can disrupt this sensitive balance.

The constant state of hypervigilance and fear that is associated with being ‘chased by a lion’ can create emotional distress and prevent the body/brain from finding the calm it needs for healing!

To truly heal, the body needs a different environment.

A different environment with relaxation, safety, and reduced stress.

This is why when working with clients that are stressed/hyper vigilant/ sympathetic dominant you need to look at their different environments because you can not heal in the same environment in which you became sick ♥️

The nervous system doesn’t forget anything!

Everything is information to help us survive and it is all stored in our system to keep us safe in the future.

But we can retrain the response of nervous system so it doesn’t have to be overreactive.

I work with a lot of women who has experienced traumas and has been diagnosed with PTSD.

They have all had therapy to help them with their Traumas (I’m not a therapist) but they come to me because their bodies are showing physical signs that balance hasn’t been restored.

Signs like physical pain, hormones issues, gut issue, chronic inflammation, autoimmune diseases, cystitis, anxiety/ depression and fatigue

We work together to restore their bodies balance so they can live their lives without physical symptoms that control their lives by focussing on the nervous system relearning so it can stop overreacting 🙌
