It’s a tough defeat to swallow today for the Expats, as the lads were beaten by Hasle in a game where we were perhaps the better side, showing we can put up a great fight against anybody in the league.

A kit clash meant the lads were forced to play in their away kit — that is, the home kit just turned inside out. Maybe that’s what costed us some focus to start the game, allowing Hasle to go up 2-0 after 15 minutes of play, although both goals came out of thin air. Undeserved for the Expats, who kept fighting and playing good football. Lots of chances were created in the second half, but the crossbar denied both Tom and Santi, and Tom again and Johannes were unlucky in another couple of occasions. But eventually Rui put us back on track thanks to an assist by Tom, and the lads’ hopes got up again, only to be shattered a couple of minutes later, when Hasle was lucky to find a goal on a corner that shouldn’t have been a corner. Luis MOTM with another solid display, but great fight by everybody.

Unlucky day for the lads. We’ll look to get back to winning ways next Monday against JAI. 🦁

It’s been 10 days without football but it will be matchday again on Sunday, when the Expats will face a strong Hasle Boldklub side away from home in a game that looks set to be a battle for the top of the standings. EXPATS WIN AND ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE! 🦁

No gaffer? No problem. The Expats bring the full loot home as they beat Søften GF 3-0 and go top of their group in Series 5. Haters will say the other teams have played one or two fewer games, but guess what — the lads don’t care. We’ll enjoy it for as long as we stay there. Stop the count. Hang it in the Louvre.

It was a quite relaxed game at Holme Skole. The lads opened the scoring with a rebound from Tom a freekick by Luis, and secured the lead just before the half as Shane found Lucas in the box for an elegant finish. Lucas then served Daniel to make it 3-0, after which the game was virtually over. MOTM for Lucas due to his two goal contributions. Unfortunately Tomasz didn’t honor his beer duty. If only the real gaffer was there, there would be consequences…

The lads will be back on the pitch on May 10 against Hasle, looking to keep up the good form.

NEXT MATCH 🔜

An exciting game awaits the Expats on Thursday against Søften GF, as the lads have a chance to go top of the league for a few days in case of a win. Talks are ongoing to stream the match live on Instagram so that the gaffer can watch it, as he’s off to his motherland this week. But Connor is back and the fans are expecting another boxing celebration from the Brit, hopefully with a better final result than when he hit that against Lyseng last year. No doubt the lads will bring their best Expats mentality onto the pitch and fight hard for a win. Up the Expats! 🦁

THE EXPATS WIN! 🦁💎

Rosenvansskolen away. The diamond. The signs were there for Expats to come home with a win today. It turned out to be a lovely afternoon as the lads destroyed Petrobras with an amazing performance on all fronts.

You could see from the start that the lads were determined to give it all on the pitch, perhaps galvanized by the box of s*x toys that was waiting for them on the sidelines, kindly brought by Daniel T. It took a while to break Petrobras’ wall, with the Expats unlucky to miss a few chances in the first 30’. But then the lads hit a one-two punch that virtually killed the game just before the half: first with Luis on a beautiful cross from Lucas, and then with a powerful strike from Tom, served by Luis on a counter. In the second half, the home side was lucky to find a goal on a confused freekick action, but the lads quickly put them back in their place, as Tom’s pressing play led to a mistake by the defense which he was cynical to exploit. The boys wrapped it up with two identical corners from Santi that found Tom’s head for his 3rd and 4th of the day. Just another day at the office for Costello. MOTM for Victor with a great all-around performance, but shoutout to all lads for the strong display today.

We’ll look to keep up the good form on Thursday, as we face Søften GF at home. Up the Expats! 🦁

NEXT MATCH 🔜

The Expats take the field tomorrow against Dynamo Petrobras away. That immediately evokes memories that were carved in our club’s history last time we played at Rosenvangsskolen. Absolute scenes when Tyson raced towards the goal in injury time under the pouring rain, scored on his last ever touch of the ball for the Expats (the gaffer ready to scream at him the usual slurs if he had missed), hit the SIUUU celly, and twisted his ankle in the motion. A movie-like farewell for the Aussie. Makes you almost forget that he binned his Expats shirt the second he left the team to go explore the third world.

A tough, dirty game that was. A textbook Expats game. We go again tomorrow with the same spirit, ready to bring the 3 points home. Up the Expats! 💎🦁

It’s the end of the road for the Expats in the Danish Cup, after a defeat against Pen15 Reunited in a game where the final result doesn’t give justice to the solid performance that the lads put on display.

10 minutes in and the ref awarded a soft penalty to the home side for the 1-0. Game’s gone if that’s a foul, but it is what it is. 2-0 for Pen15 after a scramble in the penalty box following a corner play. Still, the lads were executing on the gameplan, trying to exploit the long ball and hit the opponents on a counter, creating a number of chances. Eventually Tom bridged the gap with a powerful strike from inside the box. But in typical Expats fashion a lapse in attention costed us the 3-1 after just a couple of minutes. In the second half, hopes were crushed when Tom unluckily missed a penalty that could have halved the gap. What followed after only counts for the final stats. Rui gets MOTM after running up and down the pitch for the full 90 mins.

Our European dream is over, but we’ll go again next season. Good luck to Pen15 who will have to do without stealing our social media ideas for the rest of the competition. Shoutout to all Expats for putting their bodies on the line to try the epic feat. Keep that fighting mindset and we’ll get our wins this season. Always up the Expats. 🦁
