Gentofte Hockey Club - North Copenhagen Field Hockey Gentofte hockey club is a field hockey club in Copenhagen that embraces many nationalities. We welcome new players at all levels.

Gentofte Hockey Club (10 minutes from the center of Copenhagen) is a sports club that strives to create an environment filled with fun, togetherness, and passion for hockey.

5 minutes walk from Jægerborg train station
Club: Ved stadion 16a 2820 Gentofte We are a good mix of international students, ex pats and Danes playing on either the men’s or the ladies’ teams or in our youth section. At the moment we represent players from: England, Germany, Holland, Australia, Argentina and South Africa and of course Denmark
We are a very social club that hosts several events each year to create a good atmosphere in our club in Gentofte. Come and play hockey in Copenhagen.

Match Report: Gentofte Men's vs. KH
What a great game in Valby!

The atmosphere was electric as both teams took to the field, showcasing their skills and determination.

Copenhagen took an early lead, going up 2-0 by half-time. Despite being behind, both teams were fully engaged in the match, with Gentofte showing promise and resilience. Unfortunately, Gentofte had a goal disallowed, which added to the tension of the game.

However, Gentofte fought back fiercely! A penalty stroke was awarded, and Bastien stepped up to convert it successfully, bringing Gentofte back into the game. The team worked tirelessly to regain control, and their efforts paid off when Ethan scored, leveling the match at 2-2.

KH responded by taking the lead once again with a well-worked goal, making it game on. Gentofte, however, maintained great composure under pressure. They earned a well-deserved penalty corner, and with a fantastic variation, Jens scored a dramatic equalizer in the last second of the match, ending the game in a thrilling 3-3 draw!

🌟 Gentofte Hockey Club is Growing! 🌟

It’s only Wednesday, but it has already been an amazing week for Gentofte Hockey Club!

Today, we received a wonderful gift for the entire club. New boards have been installed around our hockey pitch, ensuring that our many hockey balls no longer roll underneath the fence. This will make life much easier for both players and coaches while creating even better conditions for our hockey community.

🙏 A huge thank you for this generous gift. It is an investment that will benefit all members of the club for many years to come.

And there is another piece of great news that takes us back four years.

Back then, a small hockey seed was planted at Børnehavnen Dragen, right next to Tjørnegård School. A dedicated and courageous educator brought 10 children to the hockey field to experience hockey for the very first time. It may have seemed like a small step back then, but today we can clearly see the impact those efforts have had.

The initiatives we have implemented, and continue to implement, to introduce hockey to our local community are working. More children, young people, and families are discovering the joy of hockey, and our club continues to grow. 💚🏑

Let’s celebrate this progress with a great training session tomorrow. And even better, bring a friend, classmate, colleague, or neighbour and show them why hockey is one of the greatest sports in the world!

We are always looking for more players for our youth teams, women's teams, and men's teams. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, you are more than welcome to join our community. 💪

🏑 U16 Season Kickoff – Gentofte x KH x Hørning: A Unique Hockey Family

What a brilliant start to the U16 season in Gentofte! Our joint team from Gentofte, KH and Hørning showed exactly why this collaboration is something truly special — three clubs, one spirit, and a group of young players who play with heart, humour and unstoppable energy.

Two matches were played on opening day:

Game 1 – vs. Sørbymagle/Lyngby
A tight battle across all four periods, swinging back and forth with great intensity. In the end, it came down to who was the sharpest in front of goal — and a razor‑sharp Hørning striker secured a well‑deserved 3–2 victory. A perfect way to start the season!

Game 2 – vs. Slagelse
Just like the first match, this one was a back‑and‑forth thriller. Again, the deciding factor was cold nerves in the circle. This time Slagelse were the more clinical finishers and took the win 3–1.

But the real highlight of the day?
The incredible team spirit between Gentofte, KH and Hørning.
The way these young players support each other, laugh together, fight together and grow together is something truly unique in Danish youth hockey.

A huge thank you to our tireless coach Andreas, who keeps the energy high and the smiles even higher.

🏑 U8 Hockey Adventure Day – Gentofte Hockey Club in Slagelse

Our U8 team travelled to Slagelse for this season’s first tournament day — and what a fantastic start it was! The youngest future hockey stars of Denmark played match after match with huge smiles, great spirit, and endless enthusiasm.

The pitch was buzzing with energy, teamwork, and pure joy. Every goal, every tackle, every cheer reminded us why we love this sport.

A big thank you to all participating clubs for creating such a great atmosphere — and a special thanks to Slagelse for being outstanding hosts.

We’ll see you all again soon for even more hockey fun.

🏑Gentofte vs. Kalundborg/Sørbymangle (Cup Game, Saturday)

Gentofte delivered a fantastic performance in Saturday’s cup match in Kalundborg. The team played with great intensity, strong tempo, and real fighting spirit from the first whistle to the very end.

As the coach said: “Super proud of all of you for working hard the whole game and pushing right till the end 💪🏻”

Player Highlights:

Viking – Outstanding defensive work with solid possession and clear communication.

Wouter – Calm and composed on the ball, creating excellent connections through midfield and into the strikers.

Haugaard – Hard graft at left back with several crucial blocks.

Kiko – Brilliant attacking down the right side and strong tackling — fully deserving the MOTM award.

Rune – Supreme calmness in possession and great through balls that opened up the attack.

Jens – Impressive work rate and key attacking runs into the circle, keeping the team’s energy high.

Olmo – Sharp finishing, beating defenders with ease and ensuring efficient attacking play.

Esben – Strong captain’s communication, high work rate, and putting the important first goals on the board.

Max – Great patience and smart balls into the D, making the left-side attack flow.

Martin – Coming out of retirement with a phenomenal number of assists and baseline runs — pure talent never fades.

A strong team effort, great spirit, and a performance to be proud of. Gentofte showed quality, unity, and real hockey joy.

🌟 Gentofte Hockey Klub åbner et nyt kapitel! 🏑💙

Denne uge tog vi hul på et spændende initiativ: at vise hockeysporten frem i nærområdet med særligt fokus på pigehockey.

På Tjørnegårdsskolen startede vi et helt nyt pige‑SFO hockeyforløb, og hvor var det fantastisk at se så mange skønne piger deltage! Der var grin, energi, gode kampe og masser af nysgerrighed på sporten.

Vi glæder os allerede til at komme tilbage igen næste uge og fortsætte med at skabe fællesskab, mod og spilleglæde.

Sunday brought a great game against KH 🏑💗

We took the court with a new team, and there were already so many positive moments. Good plays, great energy, and a strong sense of team spirit throughout the game.

There is always something special about a new team finding its rhythm together — supporting each other, working hard for one another, and growing stronger with every shift.

Just one year ago, it was a real challenge to find goalkeepers for our youth teams at Gentofte Hockey Club.
Today, after a dedicated effort to make goalkeeping fun, exciting, and welcoming, we have something amazing to celebrate: young players are actually on a waiting list to try being a goalkeeper for a day! 🎉
This would not have been possible without the incredible support from our parents and a very special thank you to Yankun, whose enthusiasm and commitment have helped make goalkeeping one of the most exciting positions on the pitch. 🙌

🏑🔥 Men’s First Team Opens the Season with Plenty of Positives 🔵⚪
Gentofte’s men's team kicked off the new season with an energetic performance full of promise, determination, and attacking hockey.
The home side got off to the perfect start when Paul calmly finished a well-worked move to give Gentofte a fully deserved early lead. The team played with confidence, moved the ball well, and created several excellent scoring opportunities. With a bit more sharpness in front of goal, Gentofte could easily have extended their advantage.
Despite controlling large periods of the game, a few costly mistakes allowed Orient back into the contest, and the visitors capitalized with three goals. Even so, Gentofte continued to compete strongly and matched their opponents for much of the game. The commitment, work rate, and team spirit never dropped, and the players kept pushing forward in search of goals.
Unfortunately, while Gentofte struggled to convert their chances, Orient were clinical when opportunities came their way and added three more goals.
Although the result was disappointing, there were many encouraging signs from the season opener. The team's attacking play created numerous chances, the intensity was high throughout, and the foundation for a strong season is clearly in place. With a little more sharpness in both circles, the performance could have been rewarded with a very different outcome.
Attention now turns to next week's cup matches, where the squad will be working hard on fine-tuning their finishing and turning positive performances into results.
