Our first men's team extends the streak to 9 consecutive wins across all competitions! 😍

On Friday, the first team hosted HB in the 21st game of the season and the 8th game of the spring. HB was the first team to beat us in the fall, so there was a little bit of extra to prove for the CBS team along with wanting to extend the win streak and keep the 1st place in the league.

However, it was the visiting team that came best out of the starting blocks. HB managed to get a lot of throw-ins, corners and free-kicks early on as they were some sizeable lads, they did well to keep the CBS Sport team under pressure for the first 10 minutes.

After that, the game opened up a bit more and the CBS team got the first clear chance of the game as Andy beautifully intercepted a ball in the midfield and drove towards the goal, but the shot didn't come off properly in the end and the score remained 0-0.

The remainder of the half was more evenly distributed with neither team really getting control of the game and without getting any more big chances.

From the start of the 2nd half, the CBS team took more control of the game and increasingly looked like the fitter side and the side that was going to push for the win. Just 5 minutes into the half, Toby got the ball on the right back, took a good touch forward immediately and played a lovely 1-2 with Magnus before putting a great flat ball across to P***e, but from a short distance the shot went over. A first warning to HB about what was to come for the 2nd half.

A few minutes later, a rough HB tackle was rewarded with a yellow card and the stage was now properly set for CBS to push for the goal.

And then it only took about 5 minutes before we succeeded. A freekick was taken short and Benno shot from outside the box. The keeper managed to get a hand on it, but Klinge was quick to follow up in front of the goal and put the rebound in the back of the net. There were big offside protests from the HB team, but after the post-game VAR review, we can confirm the Klinge was indeed onside for the goal.

CBS Sport kept pushing and in the 70th minute, the HB keeper once again had to pick the ball out of the net behind him. Lovely build-up from the back, through the middle ended up with out to Seb in the right side of the box, he squared across to Fred who clinically smashed into the short, top corner to make it 2-0. Instant impact from our captain who was subbed on just a few minutes prior after having missed the last couple of games with a calf injury.

For the remainder of the game, HB attempted to put some pressure on, but without creating any real chances and CBS kept being dangerous on the counters and strong in possession. And as such, the game ended with a well-deserved 2-0 win against a HB team that did cause trouble in parts of the game, but that maybe lacked the stamina to keep it up for the full 90 minutes.

Dragør (2nd), Føroyar (3rd) and Østerbro (4th), all won their respective games meaning that the top of the league table remains unchanged as we had into the final 5 games of the season. The CBS team has a tough schedule ahead, where they face all three teams starting with an away game against Østerbro on Saturday out in Fælledparken 🫡

CBS Sport football’s 1st team has now won their first five (!) games in the spring season 💪

A mature and clinical performance from our first team brings home a 3-0 win against a good Jægersborg team!

On Saturday, our first team faced a young Jægersborg team out in Gentofte. Jægersborg is placed firmly in the middle of the league, but has convincingly won their last two games and also looked confident going into the game.

The young Jægersborg team controlled the beginning of the game and created a few good chances. As always we were strong on the counters and we also managed to get clean through after just a few minutes, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to score on the 1v1 with the Jægersborg keeper.

Jægersborg kept controlling the game, but after 34 minutes, Benno put in a cross to the backpost, our captain rose up beautifully to put it across the goal and new CB signing Patrick popped up to put us ahead 1-0.

Less than 5 minutes later, “T” had a great interception in the midfield, found Klinge a bit further up and he put a beautiful pass in between the Jægersborg centerbacks to leave Benno 1v1 with the keeper, and he clinically slotted it down in the right corner. 2-0.

The CBS Sport team was slowly getting a better and better grasp of the game and was able to close down most of what Jægersborg came with, but also without creating a lot of big chances ourselves. The 2nd half was more of the same where Jægersborg tried to push, but the CBS defensive organisation closed down most things outside of a very good long shot that was brilliantly saved by Dalum in the CBS goal.

As we went further in the game, the CBS team got more and more possession and the Jægersborg team looked less and less like a team that was going to score. And then after about 80 minutes of gametime, a lovely corner put in by Magnus found the head of our other CB, Jordan, on the backpost and he didn’t disappoint either and made it 3-0 to seal the game.

Jordan was also later awarded the MOTM award after a dominant performance that was crucial to securing the clean sheet and the win 💪

Next week, we hope to make it 6 straight wins as Bk Hellas comes to visit our stadium on Friday night!

The 1st team makes it four in a row! 4️⃣

On a lovely Sunday morning, we hosted a strong KFUM team at the stadium. KFUM had also started their spring strongly and at least was on of our direct rivals for the promotion spots. They also looked the part from the first kickoff and the first 10 minutes were a bit chaotic as a high press kept us from playing out from the back.

However, we played our way into the game and we started controlling the events of the game by both maintaining possession and creating dangerous chances. After a couple of big misses, we finally found the net as an interception high up on the pitch was capitalized on quickly with a deep ball end then a flat cross from Benno found Stabs feet.

Had we been a bit more clinical it could have been both 2 or 3-0 by halftime, but we went to break with a solid 1-0 lead. A few key changes in the break provided new energy to the team and we came flying out the 2nd half and were controlling everything immediately after the break. Once again it took a few big chances before we got the goal, but when we did it was a beautiful one. Another good interception and after a few passes the ball ended it up in the feet of Magnus who masterfully curled it up into the furthest corner from the edge of the box with his "weak" left foot.

Unfortunately, the happiness and control didn't last long after that as KFUM answered quickly with a goal in the other end. A corner was only half cleared a couple of times and finally the ball ended up with a KFUM player who hit a good volley from the edge of the box, the shot took a deflection and ended up in the back of the net.

The rest of the game would be marked by KFUM dominating the play and us playing on the counters. KFUM didn't have a whole lot of established play, but they were constantly testing our backline with dangerous deep balls and crosses. However, through strong defensive work there were relatively few open KFUM chances and we kept threatening on the counters.

And in the 85th minute we found the net again. Stab won the ball on yet another interception and started the attack himself before being played through by Benno. With a beautiful "trivela" finish from a tight angle, he slotted it home to make it 3-1 and seal the game. KFUM kept pushing in the last minutes, but to no avail and CBS Sport could leave victorious to continue their scintillating start to the spring season.

Two goals and a super strong defensive performance from Stab earned the new man the MOTM award as voted for by the other players.

Additionally, we were happy to provide official debuts to Patrick Nielsen and Andreas Fabricius who both played the first half and both slotted in seamlessly with great performances. Two new players that we have been super excited to welcome to the team and who you can read more about in the coming week.

Next challenge will be against Jægersborg away in Gentofte on Saturday as we look to make it five in a row next week! 💪

Our best football team has won their first three games to start their spring season perfectly! 💪

Our first team makes it three wins in a row to start the season 🎉

In very windy conditions in Nørrebro, our first team took all three points home against Nørrebro FF to continue their perfect start to the spring season.

Early on, we put the pressure on, but without getting completely open chances. However, we got a lot of corners and after 15 minutes, we capitalised and Jordan found the right spot to get the goal after a questionable box by the keeper.

It was difficult to play very good football in the wind, but it was still clearly us that dominated the game and 15 minutes later, we found the goal again. A brilliant turn in the middle started a great buildup and we pushed forward quickly. An overlap on the left led to a flat cross that was only half cleared and then Klinge was clinical to smash it in high from close to goal.

We then went into the break with a 2-0 lead and a good feeling. That feeling was extend about 10 minutes after the break as Benno picked up a poor pass from their backline to go through on goal and in the 1v1 he didn’t disappoint.

All was set for us to cruise it home, but it should not be that easy. With a lot of help from the wind, a Nørrebro corner sailed directly into the goal on the front post to make it 1-3.

However, Nørrebro didn’t really manage to put on any actual pressure and about 10 minutes later Benno closed off the game after a brilliant pass from Viggo to make it three goals in his first two games as a CBS Sport player and he also deservedly brought home the MOTM award after the game.

It could have been both 5-1 or 6-1 and arguably also 4-2, but the winner was never in doubt in the end and we can now look to a big challenge on Sunday against a strong KFUM team that have also started the spring strongly.
