WRRC Copenhagen 26 On September 19-20, 2026, the World Athletics Road Running Championships will take place in Copenhagen for an unforgettable weekend.

It’s three iconic races in One Mile, 5K, and the Half Marathon distance. It’s a fierce battle for six iconic titles and a festive event for 65,000 runners.

The Road to the World Championships is bringing running to schools, holiday camps, student communities, local clubs, people living with dementia, and families across Denmark.

Because a World Championship should leave behind more than medals and records.

Morning runs, afternoon strolls, and long summer evenings by the water – the Lakes are woven into everyday life in Copenhagen.

Stretching through the heart of the city, the Lakes offer some of Copenhagen's most beloved views, while Dronning Louise's Bridge connects neighbourhoods, cultures, and people. It's a place where runners, cyclists, tourists, and locals come together from sunrise to sunset.

In September, that atmosphere becomes part of WRRC Copenhagen 26, when runners race along the Lakes and cross Dronning Louise's Bridge to experience one of the most iconic and vibrant cheering zones of the course.
