On September 19-20, 2026, the World Athletics Road Running Championships will take place in Copenhagen for an unforgettable weekend.

It’s three iconic races in One Mile, 5K, and the Half Marathon distance. It’s a fierce battle for six iconic titles and a festive event for 65,000 runners.

Grind and glory awaits in Copenhagen.

You still have a chance to run the epic half marathon distance at the WRRC Copenhagen 26. Although the distance is sold out, race entries change hands through our official Resale Platform on a daily basis.

This is how the Resale Platform works: When someone puts their bib up for sale, a random name is drawn from the Waiting Pool and offered the chance to buy the bib. If that person does not complete the purchase within 24 hours, the opportunity moves on to the next person in the Waiting Pool.

When WRRC Copenhagen 26 takes over the streets, we want the city to look and feel as international as the start line.

Runners from 149+ nations are coming to Copenhagen for the World Championships, so we are encouraging all spectators and internationals in Copenhagen to cheer for their nations.

Choose a spot.
Bring your flags, national team jerseys, homemade signs in your language – anything you already have at home that can help showcase your nationality.

Whether you're chasing records or just here to have fun, we want you to have the best possible race experience.

That's why we sent an important email yesterday to those running the 5 km and half marathon.

We're asking you to double-check your expected finish time.

You've trained. Maybe you've improved. Maybe things haven't gone exactly to plan – and that's okay.

What matters most now is that your expected finish time reflects where you are today.

This will put you in the right start group and give you a better experience by helping everything flow smoothly on race day.

Go to your profile and take a moment to make sure everything's up to date.

Deadline for changing your expected finish time is 14 September.

NB. If you're running the one mile, you don't have to do anything.
